Legends of the galactic is an amazing show for those that like political intrigue and large scale battles with tactics instead of just mindless fighting over power levels and what not.

Incredible 10/10 anime

Managing to get this off your plan to watch should give you a badge of honor. A classic and well-scripted story that doesn't try to bullshit you.

Is an Ok show, has 3D battles and better effects than the OVAs, but the Original has unmatched craftsmanship on its characters faces, expressions and details. .. they were very well portrayed, little things, like breathing, changing of mood.. just playing with a pencil or a cup... you can feel the Directions were very strict on the emotions.. and there is waaaay more character interactions, like real life.. the modern one is more on the standard, less deep conversations, not many people have multiple choices, or doubts.. they quickly jump to conclusions.. everything is more flashy.. but is a result of the times , I guess is cheaper and safer this way and the audience for this kind of Show is very narrow, so we can consider ourselves lucky they went and did a remake.
