    I don't think most people who oppose the pipeline realize that with out it, our oil still gets moved. Only it is done in a much more expensively, dangerously and dirty, since it is currently sent via train and truck. Might as well use an efficient pipeline. Besides, with the lower prices of crude today, we can use a more competitive product. There is also the added benefit of not relying as much on OPEC for our energy needs. It is a major cause of endless wars, & the system in which many brutal and corrupt dictatorships like Saudi Arabia, and Qatar continue to exert oppression and receive huge revenues.

    That same scam is creating millions of jobs. The government is making 2-3 dollars off a gallon of gas just from tax. Scam? please no body is making you buy. But you want to live that modern live that the corporate America made possible. The only reason China is building Wind mills and solar panels is to boost it's green economy to the world. Not because they want the energy, they open coal power plants every week.

Ireland is now calling for president Obama to be tried on war crimes. Bush can't travel to Canada. In 1974 CHINA found the 1st Emperors tomb & dug from 1976 to 1978 recovering less than 10% of the 20 sq. mile sites treasure. ( 100's of $TRILLION$ ) Treasure so great it was once thought to be only a fairy tale

    It does if the pipeline runs through private land. There is this thing called property rights and liability, something these oil companies don't care to acknowledge exist.

    The idea is that the tarsands stay where they are. We don't want a pipeline.

    • @8317dh
      @8317dh 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quite right. The tar sands should stay in the ground. I speak - and write - for millions of environmentalists. Tar sands oil is very dirty. To extract it, large scale deforestation is necessary. How awful! Renewable sources of energy - solar and wind - currently have a small share of the overall electricity market in the nation, but that is increasing rapidly. Texas is well known as an oil state, but the lone star state has so much wind power that most of the state offers free electricity after 9:00 pm! For some details, search: "Texas wind power electricity free nights"

    • @janetfromanotherplanet1301
      @janetfromanotherplanet1301 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Donald H in fort macmurray we are starting to get its out of the ground by steam. How that works you ask? Well, will drill a hole and steam extracts it at the right depth. Way more environmentally safe. If you think pipeliners aren't environmentally safe, we are the backbone of Canada and the USA. It's the safest way to transport oil and gas. When a train de rails and it's full of oil or gas, all they do is cut the tanks open and try and get the train off the track as soon as possible, they don't care what mess they make. When a pipeline ruptures, we have emergency shut offs that stop oil or gas from moving and spilling. Then we clean up the mess as best as possible. (depending on the company owning the pipeline) So don't go after pipelines as a whole, or the people working on them. Go after corrupt comanies like husky or shell. And as for trains, protest the corrupt companies as well.

    The jobs are already filled, unless they build more refineries. But they have plenty down there now. This does not benefit the US at all. All it does is make money for the oil barrons and pollutes our country, drives climate change big time. Otis is right!

Reread my post , and get back to me if you comprehend. Are there new refineries? Nope Where does that refined gas go? Europe Will America get cheaper gas? Nope So how does this benefit USA ? A few thousand will get temporary jobs along the pipeline, and unions will continue to lobby congress to keep them on top wake up and smell the coffee

    All pipes at subject to burst and or "leak". Watersheds along this pipeline run through good land, and on top of leeching soils. Bayou Coryne ..prime example when geology and pipelines don't mix well.

    Epic!!! Are you a stockholder for Exxon,BP or Shell? Are you sure you are going to get some of that profit? US is top refiner of petro. US is also top exporter of refined gas. Do the math! How much do you pay for gas/diesel? Since US is topping the list, I would assume Americans would be paying less at the pump. There should be an IQ test to post on youtube.

    How will it not benefit The US cus america is the name for two continents. And it would cus US gets more crude oil to refine and sell for profit.

    Premise Fourteen: From birth on - and probably from conception, but I’m not sure how I’d make the case - we are individually and collectively enculturated to hate life, hate the natural world, hate the wild, hate wild animals, hate women, hate children, hate our bodies, hate and fear our emotions, hate ourselves. If we did not hate the world, we could not allow it to be destroyed before our eyes. If we did not hate ourselves, we could not allow our homes - and our bodies - to be poisoned.

  • @sfomikedean1
    @sfomikedean1 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Premise Nineteen: The culture’s problem lies above all in the belief that controlling and abusing the natural world is justifiable. Premise Ten: The culture as a whole and most of its members are insane. The culture is driven by a death urge, an urge to destroy life. Premise Eighteen: Our current sense of self is no more sustainable than our current use of energy or technology.

    Look at all the jobs it will create! I can immigrate to your country and clean your water for you with my patented chemical cleaning. Ow man if this parallels the water pollution in the old Russian satalite state area we're going to be rich. Drill baby drill! You pollute, I'll make it look clean with bleach.

  • @badhorseification
    @badhorseification 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    if you're sad to say it, you're saying its a sad life. We have the technology to build a more sustainable, longer lasting infrastructure that would provide cleaner energy and just as many jobs. The keystone pipeline is a temporary solution to a long term problem. It exists to save the states from the 'recession', but the recession that will follow when we have no bitumen left and no sustainable energy options will be much more terrifying. We're just delaying a big issue, not fixing it.
