@@michelleellecreations2538 Thank you so much. 😊 I use acrylic markers. These are Artistro Acrylic markers, I also use Arrtx Acrylic markers. I do put a top coat of resin to protect it.

@ thank you so much for responding. I’ve been wanting to try this but I could never figure out if it was the acrylic or oil markers. I figured acrylic would come off and oil would stay on. Thank you for clearing this up for me!!! 😬

@@michelleellecreations2538 You're very welcome. Please let me know how it turns out for you. Just to let you know, I did try the Artistro acrylic markers in the mold before adding the resin. It colored the mold just fine, but once the resin was poured, it wouldn't cure properly. That's why I paint it on after it's cured.

@@kellylaher7512 You can use alcohol inks in uv resin for a transparen effect. What I'm using is a pigment dye, it's not the same as alcohol ink. There are resin dyes that are suitable for uv resin and epoxy resin. The one I use is currently unavailable, but you can find them on Amazon for a reasonable price.

Those turned out so cute. I’ve been sitting on this mold for over a year. Always wondered about the cane handle part. Watching this I wonder if it’s possible to fill just the thicker side, slide the other side into place then stand it upright and finish filling. We’ll see. I’ll have to quit waiting and get to molding this week.

We had some nice weather and I thought it would be a great time to take my bird cages outside to give a good cleaning before it snows. I got my hand caught between the cage and door. I actually pushed the door with my foot and it slammed back into my hand. My cages are 6 ft tall. So my hand got smashed between two heavy things. It still hurts a lot, but nothing is broken, just badly bruised. Sorry for the long story. 😊

@@lynbit Thank you so much. 😊🌷 I had these molds for quite some time. I couldn't even figure it out when I first bought them and set them aside. I know how you feel. Then I tried a test with clear resin to get an idea of how it worked. Then I decided to use the acrylic markers.

@ I do have acrylic markers, just a different cheaper brand with probably less colors. But when I give it a try I’ll let you know if I’m successful.

@lynbit That would be great. I would love to hear how it worked for you. When I first bought my acrylic markers, they were rather cheap. Now I see all these artists using them and the price definitely increased.

@@meribunsold9732 Thank you very much Meri. 😊❤️🌷⚘️ You can use a marker on the bottom, but the markers I use, even though they are acrylic, they are water-based and do not stick to the mold. I thought I heard oil based markers or Posca markers work well on the molds.

@@jenenedennison2315 Thank you for commenting. I worked with a few resins since and lately I've been using Kisrel UV Resin that I pirchased from Amazon. It's great and cures without being tacky. And no flames when you use a lighter.
