an easier way to install E clips in that situation is using those needle nose pliers to squeeze the clip on. open the jaws and center the E clip against the fastener and squeeze.
That’s worked in the past for us but in this case it was being a bit particular lol good advice though!

I'm a newbie at working on cars, but it seems like you can just change them yourself and save from not going to a mechanic? Thanks for the vid!

@@MrKieriosity I would only assume it's a Miata thing. I thought the same when it happened to my neighbors NB. I assumed it was head related until I pulled the motor and tore it down. Cylinder 3 rod was smoked. The bearing was nowhere to be found and the rod was so badly worn, it had to be replaced. I was lucky enough to have a machine shop cut the crank for larger bearings.

The first gen’s did have an V8 so what are you talking about? Where’s the problem just get used to it just like in any other car
Oh yeah I have had it for 3 years lol I’m pretty used to it. Mine’s the v10 gen 1 and it has the r Tronic. Its behavior changes depending on the day 😂 mostly you can feel that it dislikes timid throttle at lower speed.

It feels like a manual in first and second same with reverse but if your uses to a manual it will feel normal
Yep! Used to Manual now and agree that it feels more like a manual without a clutch. But it does not like going slow that is for sure :)
Was it converted to 134a? Or no?
Pretty sure it’s stock but the AC recharge worked great
I’m pretty sure he has a R12 to R134a adapter on there because stock doesn’t have that nut on it. Also the a/c pro he’s using says r134a on it and stock is R12

i love my 97 miata, mine was completely mashed when I bought it though, but its still nice and stock with 122000 miles - i will keep her forever. Its heaps fun and its not really cost me that much, im just unlucky to have everything going at the same time :/ but like you said, its a 90s car, the 90s was 25 years ago, most cars dont last more than 15 years (but thats because people dont maintain their cars and just get new ones)

hey, how are the teins holding up? are they comfortable for daily in comparison to the oem shocks and are they good for some spirited driving? thanks for the videos, they been helping me deciding what coilovers to get eheh
Yo! Happy to help! They have been good. After I got the new wheels and tires on, the ride did become quite a bit stiffer with the current suspension. If you are okay with a stiffer ride, then absolutely they are good for daily driving and do great for spirited driving imo. If you are sticking with the original wheels, the ride is quite comfy and easy to daily drive.
Did you ever get the TCU Tune from VF Engineering? I have in on mine and it is night and day. Last year we went to a local shop for an oil change and the guy working on it thought it was an S-tronic at first because of how smooth the transmission was. 🤣
As far as I know this does not have a TCU tune. Can’t seem to find record of it. I have thought about getting one ever since I bought this though 😁 sounds like it is worth it!
@@MrKieriosity Yes it is definitely worth it. I didn't get the ECU tune since I was pretty happy with the existing power and felt that I rather not tune the engine for reliability sake. But definitely get the TCU tune. It was like getting a new car on top of getting a new car lol.
