Inside, you can fit a 13" laptop, sleeping bag, cooking pot, extra clothes, and more. Its identical to our 137 Basket Bag but larger and sized for the Wald 1392. Can you explain the difference between the two fabrics? Presumably the waterproofing differs, but what effect does this have in practice?
Our bags come standard in RBC1000, a Cordura polyester fabric made entirely of recycled plastics, and in the most durable thickness - 1000d. It has a fairly water resistant polyurethane coating on the back and a DWR finish on the surface to wick water. Note this coating is non-toxic and contains no PFCs. ECOPAK is also made entirely of recycled plastics but is much more waterproof. It has a laminated film backing rather than a coating. It also has the same water wicking DWR finish. We are using the most durable thickness as well (600d). It’s only offered in the limited colors listed with ECOPAK next to the name. You can find more info on our fabrics and waterproofing here - outershell.com/faq-help-center
epic design!
love yall!!!!
Just got mine in white! Super stoked to run it with my frame bag + stem caddy. Moo!!!
Love it! Are all the colors updated with the new features, or are some still the "V1" and some the "V2"?
All the colors have the updated features!
damn im early by accident. was just looking for a brand new handlebar bag and chanced upon you guys.
In stock and available now!
You should have replaced the handlebar grip system with voile straps... much better than what comes standard... (I speak from experience) I have the old model when you put a little weight on it it untightens very quickly. .. and I would have made it a little bigger and it would have been perfect... I want the same size that Terry Barentsen has for the jack the bike rack
Voile straps work great with it. Your stock straps shouldn't be slipping though. Feel free to email us if you want to try a replacement? Terry is using the 137 Basket bag btw, one size up from this one. Link here: outershell.com/shop/137-basket-bag
@@outershell Sorry, it's not the straps, it's the small piece that closes the straps... it stays tight but tends to loosen and more with weight but the voile straps don't... I knew that Terry's bag was custom... I already bought the new model, the updates were worth the change! Respect
currently sold out? 😂
Not out yet - available this Tuesday 7/9!! I didn't think people would find this video that fast haha
Y’all are genius! Can’t wait to get my hands on one.
Cool story and bike you should do a reviewing the ride video or did I miss it?
I just ended up doing instagram stories during the ride. haven't done a full video though
But can they be used as regular panniers in the rear?
These mount to 3-bolt bosses so you have to use a rear rack with those mounts like the Tumbleweed or Old Man Mountain
These are absolutely killer, I'm working on a series of bikepacking bags for a design school project and would love to chat with you about some of the design decisions that go into these bags. Mainly, how do you design your bags to attach securely and not be super cumbersome to take on/off?
This guy supports Islamic extremists and has allied with Nazis at Pro Palestine pogroms.
Good call on the SQlab saddle. Is that the 612? I really like the thoughtful details and the way you put this bike together for PBP. I hope you had a good ride.
Thanks! Yes it's the 612
go test that mous bike mount properly before you start!!! my Pixel 6 Pro keeps popping out of the mount over cobble stones and gravel. Drives me nuts
Ended up working out!
You said this is your first Randoneering ride? I thought you needed to qualify with doing a 200, 400, and 600k?
Not my first rando ride, first YEAR riding rando. I started qualifying and training January this year
Fantastic bike and setup, nice detailed look. All the best for the ride!
YUM!
Kyle you crack me up ❤ good luck out there!
Enjoy this experience!!! Wish you all the best and happiness.
Great bike and setup. I wish you all the best "en route" in France. PS the 3 anchor cam strap I ordered for my mirrorless and film cams just rocks. Nice work! Thank you.
so glad you like it! thanks for the feedback!
Your setup looks dope, Kyle! Love the UL bags and that's a really creative design with that frame bag! Good luck with the ride!
Hi I'm interested and sent an email still waiting for help thanks
Hey I looked for your email and couldn't find it. Sorry about that! We have most medium and small half frame bags in stock now. Larges will be available in 2-3 weeks.
On December wishes on me 🙏.
Soon im cycling in Philippines all shell i visit .
It would be helpful to see a video using the 10.5 L bag on a full suspension mountain bike with a dropper seat post.
Great idea! Not sure we'll make an entire video just for that, but you can check clearance with your suspension fully compressed and seat dropped (if you have a dropper) and measure the clearance from tire-to-saddle to make sure it's at least 6.5".
Awesome! Love your product and ethics
just got the brown medium frame bag last week, love it! watching this video I just learned about the little zipper pocket to keep it from bouncing around lol gotta try that next ride. The bag fits perfect in my 56 Salsa Stormchaser
Glad you found it informative! The zipper jangling can be so annoying on a long ride, once you notice it. Tucking it in smoothly might take a little practice but gets easy super quick.
Constantly impressed by your designs, materials, and execution!
Awesome, guys. Love it.
Im not sure I trust the strap to hold. if it unhooks it looks like the bag can fall off. any redundancy?
The strap has been thoroughly tested by us and many other customers without any issues so we're confident in its ability to hold. They are made by Voile Manufacturing as seen here: www.voilestraps.com/blog/how-they-work/ Hope this helps!
