Carrie's Garden January Snow Day
At Carrie’s Garden, we were taken by surprise when the skies gifted us an unexpected 3 inches of snow. We hadn’t anticipated such generous snowfall, but to our delight, the snow nourished the soil. It was a reminder of the beauty and unpredictability of nature, and we couldn’t have been happier with the unexpected blessing. #blessings #snowfall #urbangardening #greenhousefarming #farming #snowday #snowfall #urbanfarming

Carrie's Garden Creek
มุมมอง 74หลายเดือนก่อน
If you've ever encountered creek bank soil erosion, here's a few tips on how we handle the situation for starters at Carrie's Garden, we hope this helps. Erosion that exposes pipes is a common issue in areas where streams or creeks flow near infrastructure. This erosion happens when water flow removes soil and sediment from the creek banks or bed, often caused by natural processes like rainstor...

To place fabric, or not to place fabric......what do you think ?
มุมมอง 62 หลายเดือนก่อน
In preparing the garden for the seasons vegetables, it always helps to place fabric down to ward against invasive weeds. We highly suggest it !
Thank you Queen Barbara Ann, you’re a blessing 😎🙏🏾!!

Thanks for the motivation and encouragement 🙏🏾
Do you need worms for the compost pile?
That’s an excellent point, we have plans to add red wiggler worms in that very compost bin. Thanks a ton for noticing, keep up the suggestions for us.
Give the garden to God...first fruit 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I also would have re-enforced the area around the water pipes as well to protect from freezing.
That is exactly what I had in mind to shore up that creek line. Great job, cuz ( no weapon)!!!!!
The land looks so peaceful
I would look into using angle iron to protect the PVC pipe that runs down into the stream bed. I also would try to remove all the debris that is up stream close to your property. The possibility of using large stones in the area near the water line may help to reduce the erosion of the soil and help to slow the water flow in that area.
I tell that the water during the flood ran back in the creek bed. Do know where it was flowing from or was it simply due to the fact that the elevation was higher on the residential side of the property.
Excuse my grammatical errors ( as usual my thoughts are moving faster than my fingers 😅).
Please be careful out there🙏🙏🙏

This is only the beginning 🙏🏿
This is awesome!
