I do not even want to think about Zero and Azure being smushed together into one game. That sounds horrific - and I love it when my games are super long. There comes a point when it's too long. And honestly, being able to add small combat innovations between games is a good way to keep combat from feeling repetitive.

@@StrayFrey It's not as bad as it sounds. If they didn't split their games in half, there'd be no need to level up and collect all the equipment and Quartz again and they could've introduced new mechanics in the second half of the game. A lot of the stuff that makes it a completely new game could've been cut and the complete version would only be 1.5x as long as the first game alone instead of the 2x it takes for two games.

I guess I just assumed that the game would remove the important quartz from characters I didn't bring with me since that's how CS1 worked. Even though I'm pretty sure I hated that mechanic in CS1 I kind of miss is now. Oh well. Now that I know, I can work around it.

Well given how my life is going in this game so far I think I need to heavily invest in that item MQ. Having items basically be equivalent to breath instead of tear sounds amazing! Also I wonder if in the original Japanese version of the game if they explained our choices better instead of just saying it's closer. Or they just didn't expect players to be able to read maps...

@@StrayFrey I think the VAs might've never actually seen the map. Maybe they were just given the lines and told to "read this!". But the outcome is still funny.

Ohhhhh. So you're saying while I'm out in the field doing whatever multiple days are passing even though it shows the same date, but once we're back in Ymir it truly is only one day of rest? Weird, but ok.

Its the same button as a normal absorption (the hold circle thing), you just have to make sure you're right next to them when you do it. If you're at a distance it doesn't work. Hope this helps and good luck!

Trying to judge weather and seasons in video games or anime can be so confusing. I guess if other characters complain about it being cold then we can question Fie's outfit choices.

@@StrayFrey Well, she will have to go back to Ymir in that outfit at some point and the last time I checked, snow meant that it's cold.

The Fie gunshot counter is honestly lifechanging. It makes her so much more viable as a character. Her as an evasion tank will work so, so much better now.

I definitely thought there was a bigger age gap - its probably just because of her size. I'm interested to see the interactions between them going forwards. There are just too many good characters! Honestly a great problem to have. I still think it's funny that I like Alisa, the quasi cannon pick for Rean, the least.

@@StrayFrey The typical entrance age for Thors is 17. Fie, Elise and the princess are 15(or depending on when their birthday is have turned 16 over the past few months). You can't really go by size, because Towa was already 18 when you first met her. When she was a Jaeger, Fie was called "Sylphid", because of her petite build and speed. A Sylph is a wind spirit, said to be invisible, but often depicted as a fairy like being in art. Just a quick warning, there are some way more extreme age gaps in canon relationships within the Trails series. It also took me a while to warm up to Alisa, because she starts out as the tsundere trope.

@@skyknight0408 Age gaps are only weird for me in a school setting - outside of that I don't feel like it really matters since you're likely an adult. Live your life at that point. And I completely forgot about Towa! How could I forget about such a precious individual! Although now I'm worried about how she's taking the whole Crow thing. I love that this game has me genuinely concerned about NPCs.

@@StrayFrey I don't want to spoil anything, just take my word on it. It's gonna get really weird for you in the age gap department... Everbody loves and cares for Towa. The devs loved her so much, they put an alternate version of her in Tokyo Xanadu. Technically not a real NPC. More like Sara.

@@StrayFrey I did go for Laura in the first two games, but for some reason they reset the relationships again after that and treat it like it never happened. They don't carry over into the next arc aka CS3+4. Might be the switch to a different publicher on the western version of the later games. If you want to stay consistent within this arc, just remember that you picked Emma in CS1.

I think I also would have preferred they left the markers out. I would have actually taken the time to read that first clue if the game hadn't told me exactly where I needed to go. Why even have intricate clues if I don't actually need to solve them? I guess the game just really wanted to make sure we knew Machias was smart and that he likes chess.

I'll be honest, I wasn't even looking at the map when he said that. I do remember thinking why does distance matter when we're traveling there through whatever magical nonsense Valimar's got going on though.

@@StrayFrey It's an oddly specific thing to notice while playing, but after I did, I couldn't unsee it anymore and have to tell everyone who plays, because I think it's hillarious. It gets even more ridiculous when he decides between the two remaining destinations.

That is amazing news! I'll try to remember to do that whenever I'm back. I honestly never would have tried this on my own. I'll go in to speak to the manager, Purple, and whoever else, but I'd never think to actually take a bath.

@@StrayFrey It's like staying at the inn only you don't have to pay for it. Later when you get the ability to fast travel, you should spend a few minutes to go back there before every major battle. It make life a lot easier.

@@skyknight0408 It honestly sounds like a godsend. I hate going into boss fights with no CP, so this is going to be great. And now I don't need to worry about holding on to CP if I can just go back and heal it up - makes life so, so much easier!

@@StrayFrey You won't be able to go back in the middle of a mission, but you can go back before you start the mission and before tackling optional (hard)bosses you can find in the world and bosses for sidequests. More like, "Oh, if I advance the main story now, I'll have to go into that base. Better go fill up my CP first!" .

Oh no. I guess I'll just have to hope we get to see Jusis punch him in the face. That'd be ideal~

Because Rean definitely needed to add more people into his harem...

It isn't though! There's a point much later in this game where it is heavily implied that it takes place right after that battle in Crossbell! I won't say more, because it would be a spoiler. But you can't miss it, because the characters say Duvalie looks exhausted.

Yes! I was hoping Sky would come out before it was time for me to play CS3, but that's not gonna happen. I just started 2, so the plan is to just keep going in order until Sky comes out. And I agree, it really is a beautiful game. Their attention to detail is insane!

They really do dial it up to 100 for this last chapter. I love it though! And thank you so much, CS2 should actually start going up today I think. This series really knows how to pull us in. I'm kind of happy I've waited until so many of the games are already out so I don't have to wait literal years after cliffhangers like this.

Well now we know for the future. I just really thought that resting wouldn't heal CP. I don't know when or where I got that in my head...

I'm really hoping the remake of the first sky game comes out before I finish CS2 or at least around that time so I can jump into that game next. I'm tired of not knowing what Estelle, Joshua, and Renne have going on other than what was brought up in Zero and Azure. But I don't really want to buy the original game and play them on steam if I'm just going to buy them again when the remakes come out, you know? And I hope you have a speedy recovery! Get lots of rest. P5R can wait - it's not like they're going to announce P6 anytime soon.

@@StrayFrey Thank you. And I know the game isn't going anywhere, but it's still frustrating to be this close to the end and not able to go the last couple of steps. You won't see much of this in Sky 1. It's mostly worldbuilding and character introductions again and when the actual interesting stuff starts, it tells you: "To be continued!" just like Cold Steel does. I see you've started to upload CS2 videos. Did you think to look for the Active Voice option and set it to free? If the console version even has the option, that is.

I just love how focused this series is on making everything actually make sense and be connected. They actually put effort and care into explaining much earlier that there was a boatload of missing resources so that the existence of these things would be reasonable. Every time I think about it I just get more impressed by their attention to detail~

That cliffhanger has been killing me! I hated having to wait so long to start CS2, even if the wait was really necessary... I was also kind of expecting more from this bonding moment? After the impactful bonding moment I got in Azure I guess I was just expecting more. This was cute though.

@@StrayFrey It carries over parts of the bonding level into CS2. Was supposed to do something special for the one you chose to dance with, but it treats everyone you had max bonding with as if you chose them.

It's quite ironic that Millium ORION can't wear ORION BOOTS because they're for men. I wonder if the developers did that intentionally.

That's actually very fascinating. Especially when you compare japanese mecha to say the transformer franchise which is pure machinery. I kind of like the necessity of that human element - human and machine working together to accomplish a goal just sounds better to me than the machine/robot working on its own. Definitely food for thought.
