i agree kew gardens is lovely! i read the short story "kew gardens" by virginia woolf recently and learned in the footnotes that the refreshment pavilion at kew was burned down in political protests by suffragettes in 1913 as part of their campaign to get the vote-were you aware of that? i don't think i realized the suffrage movement was quite so intense! next time i go i'm going to have to imagine the flames in quiet reflection of progress bitterly made-and then get a cuppa and feel lovely and fine in a wonderful place🌷 thanks for sharing your adventures, and i appreciate how you share both the nice moments and the grounding ones 🌳
