As a big Royal Caribbean fan as well as being a diehard Carnival Funnel Head, I strongly recommend that you try the Carnival Excel Class for a very comparable experience that you find on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class ships (like the Symphony Of The Seas cruise ship that you are very fond of); also give Carnival’s Vista class ships a try for a much more modern and upscale experience that I think that you would also very much enjoy.

How is 1 helicopter going to evacuate all the passengers on a cruise ship?

I have been on 15 princess cruises and have never seen more than three people in the gym at a time

Having cruised with Princess for nearly 30 years we were so disappointed in Sun Princess all the intimate lounges are basically gone now its all very much open plan and you can't have a conversation in somewhere like Crooners or Bellinis as all the entertainment is in the atrium and the noise is so loud it drowns out everything the wheelhouse bar is so small and once again while sitting there ques of people are walking through to the restaurant there is no entertainment at all there we spent 21 nights on this ship and could never get a space by the pool we waited ages in the restaurant for dinner the staff are so run off their feet totally understaffed in the end it didnt feel like a Princess ship at all never again for us.

You guys have really been affected by the ongoing changes on this ship. And there seems to be a bit of confusion. It is too bad that you have not been following all of the latest info, online. Princess closed Butcher's Block because they are actually moving the locations/venues for these restaurants around. They should have handled this a LOT better! I think you might be confused about O'Malleys being changed from Casual to Specialty. There are O'Malleys on several ships. I don't know who would pay that amount for a burger. The American Diner is NOT going away.... It is being moved to the Aft of the Buffet, where Catch and Butcher's Block are. Catch and Butcher's will now have a real venue. You could have enjoyed the Sanctuary Area... It is available, based on capacity, at $99.00 per day. BUT, this changes when the ship reaches FLL, and the new Sanctuary Class system goes into effect. Then it available ONLY to those in Suites or Sanctuary Class cabins. I heard that the seats in the Dome are supposed to convert. The Footrest are supposed to flip into seats. The Dome is said to close late afternoon, so that they can convert everything for the evening and the show. I don't know why there is confusion and Princess can't get themselves together on these things!!! But, they definitely need to Get It Together!!! I understand that Valorra the Pirate Show has actually been getting very mixed reviews, and is now being totally discontinued. Since seating is so limited, I think they are going to focus on more performances for the other shows. I am wanting to see Viva La Musica. They do have Afternoon Tea on all Princess ships. But the Royal Tea on Sun is something new and special for the SUN. Hope you enjoy Crown Grill!

My wife and I are going in November, and bringing my parents for their first ever Cruise. It will be our first Excel class ship with Carnival, and I am the type that maps everything in my head 🗺 (Since family will turn to me on where to go). Great review from a typical cruiser's perspective. You are the first video I have watched that mentioned where the shuffle board table was - so that was one final checkbox for me 😁 It also reminded me to grab the single page expanded Deck plans - So I appreciate that! Do you know if any shows (Family Feud, Comedy, etc) have to be booked after boarding for these Excel class ships? Or are they all still First come for seating?
