The beginning of a restoration project on a 1963 Renault 4L. The car is RHD 6v an was originally assembled by the Smiths group in Dublin Ireland.

At 3:12 a different bonnet and grille appears. I hope that the original bonnet and grille will be used in this restoration. It would be great to see and hear this car in action.

Where is part 2
I had an identical 6volt 3 speed R4 as my first car in 1973. Mine could have done with that treatment, but I had no money or skills. The crank had more end float than the QE2.

A right-hand drive 4L ... I didn't know that Renault managed to sell in the UK.
They even say....... that Colin Chapman was inspired by the R4 chassis, when he constructed the monocoque of the F1 Lotus 25.
I'm the owner of a similar R4, 1963. Great Job!!
I learnt to drive in a '73 car. Super little cars. Hope you've seen the video of the '64 car in France-35 years sitting.

Nice....is this daily driver or track days car? What tyres did you have? My car was sliding so much. What is that app please?
Pretty much a Track Day car. Pirelli P Zero Nero all round, getting down to the bar but they worked pretty well given how hot Monday was. The app is Harry's Lap timer, you'll need to purchase the Grand Prix edition for Video overlay telemetry and it can be a little fiddly to get the GoPro's working with it. Presume I'll see you at the next one in September?
Philip Martin Thanks, I will have a look and do some testing. I am thinking about it, everything was great but I was worried that somebody hit me. Some lads fly through corners, I don't blame them but I would cut myself if something happened to the car.
