I frankly don't understand some of the arguments here. Maybe its the syntax being used.SSDI is going to be used to bailout SS. This is lawfull by Congress to do. They do make the laws They have historically been used the help each other out through changing the portions going to each from FICA. The problem is not the payments going to dependents [or illegals ], bu simple demographics.

The plan to use and pay later caused growth in its time. pressures not limited to reduced working pool to dependency ratios and a longer life expectancy will cause change on its own. The extra burden of continuous none contributing dependents will eventually drain the funds and be cause for restructuring. As most individuals and family's would like the program to continue with its intended value restructuring must have a dependable new source of funds to cover the non contributing dependents, that source if written as a tax or dollar inflationary guarantee without the need for floor vote would help us to veiw it as a dependable fund and cause long term growth in private industries. Or we could keep it as a needy fund and talk about it every election ð
Great job, guys! Excellent content, relevant and spot on. There are actually two types of fiduciaries in our profession: captive and independent. A captive fiduciary is the W-2 employee of a major brokerage firm, a firm that requires him or her to sell only their offerings of mutual funds and insurance products, lest they be guilty of âselling awayâ, a violation potentially resulting in suspension or loss of license. A true fiduciary has to be able to say that they provided you with the best available solutions for the challenges/needs with which you presented-not merely the best solutions that their brokerage firm has to offer. An independent fiduciary works for you, not the mothership of a major brokerage firm. They have access to all of the products in the marketplace and can truly claim to have offered you the best fitting solutions for your unique needs. The former may be able to claim to be fiduciaries based on licensure and how they're paid, but their first obligation is always to their employer, not to the consumer. Any wealth management firm that understands that the most prevalent fear of retirees and pre-retirees polled is one of outliving their money, yet doesn't offer guaranteed lifetime income solutions like annuities-especially in today's higher interest rate environment when those products are performing better than they have in a quarter century-is not acting in your best interest, and is therefore not a true fiduciary.
