It’s an exciting time to be reading the Bible. As we increasingly encounter readers with perspectives, experiences, and cultures different from our own, we can incorporate new ideas and approaches to interpreting Scripture. When diverse interpretations from various social locations are gathered together, we gain new vistas and a fuller image of the text.
In this course, a crosscultural team of scholars describes and workshops global readings in biblical interpretation. By presenting a range of readings from different regions and people groups, with particular attention to marginalized groups, the teachers demonstrate the importance of contextually sensitive approaches. They help us build up key values for reading Scripture in the twenty-first century: self-awareness, other-awareness, and true dialogue.
Who we are shapes how we read. Guided by these expert teachers, students will gain a deeper understanding of the influence of their own social location and how to keep growing in biblical wisdom by reading alongside the global Christian community.
The course is based on the book Reading the Bible Around the World: A Student’s Guide to Global Hermeneutics (InterVarsity Press) available for purchase at ivpress.com or at Amazon.com.

It a great reorientation in mission. Id add the presence of God as more focused than merely his purposes. Otherwise we just get a repeat of fhe "social gospel". Its living the "with God life" now and forever.
Dumbest word salad I've heard today.
What a shame, this guy doesnt know much of the bible was not written by Israelites. His instincts, stink.
Sounds like the usual academic gobbledygook
Sadly, I am a Christian that sees the people of the Christian Faith looking at women as being people who do not have the ability to teach (which is a big part of preaching). I thank you for your teaching on this subject. In my opinion, you explained this concept very well. I hope I can discuss these ideas at the church I attend. Thank you.
Amen ✝️ ❤️ 🙏🏻
YAHWEH IS NOT THE NAME .YESHUA OS THE NAME THEY FORGOTTEN
Negative, Psalms 110, tells us that "Yaweh" said unto, "Adonai" (it is not spelled that way in the sentence for that is the name as it stands alone). In this passage (110) God the "Father" is speaking to God "the Son". Jesus confirms this in the New Testament!
Can yall get anything straight
❤️🔥
Yahweh is from Babylon.
Imagine my surprise to see you pop up on my computer! Thanks for this information! Love it! Hope you are well.
❤Soo beautiful and amazing that all these centuries later.. We're still identifying, analyzing the script of our beautiful book of Life.. The Bible.. Gods Word will forever be a Mystery.. That without It.. There is No Life.. Thank You Lord... ❤✝️🛐👏🙌🙏
Why did you call his real name Yahuah -nonsense? It’s the correct Palio original name from the Tetragrammaton of the Torah.
I don't know how much more of this chain yanking I can take. I'll just stick with just "God," thank you very much.
Do you think a global flood took place?…
No
@@mahmunikhiangte9649 Why not?
@@mahmunikhiangte9649What are your talking about Willie’s?😂 I mean mahmun 😅 There was a FLOOD and you know it!🥸😎😁
The name of God that saves us is Jesus. There was no time before Jesus, He was there before the beginning. Yahweh is not God's name. No believing Jew would use God's name. They wrote YHWH to signify God's name. We added the vowels to make a name. God's name is assuredly not Jehovah.
Do not add one word to. Do not take one word away.
Amen.
Who gave God's name? It's given by humans depending on the locality where God was born.
Actually, the real name of "God the creator of the universe" is NOT in the Bible. That God is only mentioned in the book of Enoch, abd very few know that many news were worshipping the Watchers- NOT "God"...
His name is YAHUAH. There is plenty of evidence showing this in ancient writings.
He does not care what you call Him,He knows who you're talking to.
I'm pretty sure the name "Yahweh" is incorrect. Yahuah, Yahawah, Yahuwah, Yahuvah are more correct pronunciation.
Basically you admitting that our name in America is Jehovah, plus there verse in the Bible that he said you will know my people's by my name
Jehovah / Yahwah created a body for HIMSELF, and revealed HIS NAME as Yashua. JESUS in English
To God be the glory
No w or w sound in the original language.
I think there is a more sinister meaning behind this deception
Carmen hd is best friend he is carmen hayden which i cskl him karma be was the natude for kardinal karmec his brother namd is carney hayden n hayden is thr namr of my ex gifriend son hayden corbet but jimmy son
Amen, Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life.
Sir pls translate ur messages in tamil telugu languages
Wow ❤ this is great
The recently released Legacy Standard Bible does use God's name, Yahweh.
The root word of adonai is a name of a false God. The word adonai followed them out of babylon as well as much idolatry
Research the Hebrew names of months. You'll find idolatrous names. Research where the kippa came from ... Bible says no to head coverings!!! Etc....
Yahweh - God Yeshua - Jesus Elohim - Holy Spirit (El -oh - eem)
His Name is Yahuah, there's no W or E in the Paleo Hebrew
The correct name for ALMIGHTY GOD IS YEHOVAH❣️ Look up Nehemia Gordon's info on GOD'S name, he is a brilliant Hebrew scholar and has researched ALMIGHTY GOD'S NAME throughout the world and has found many documents that proves the name is YEHOVAH. Shalom
Yahweh or eheieh literally means I AM so what’s is gods name?? I AM
God name is not Yahweh god has no name just like god has no gender and his is not even a name god is spirit good is light god is water
Clever!
That is so fascinating
I experienced what you’re talking about. My husband and I are both seniors but we have been enjoying contemporary worship for 25 years. Recently we were in NYC and went to a service at St. John the Divine. It was so formal and serene and beautiful . Both of us were amazed at how calm and holy and lovely it was. I yearn for that experience again. I’m beginning to understand that church can be different than a rock concert and fast paced music and cool people be-boppin to hip sounds. Church can be a choir in white robes responding to the God’s people. The leader that gave the sermon, Patrick Malloy, said,”This is a community of people who meet in one of the most beautiful buildings in the world; a cathedral that invests in sublime music because (we are a people) that finds a whisper of the God who is eternally beautiful in the beauty of human creation and the beauty of art.” I have read that some evangelical Christians have moved to the Greek Orthodox Church. Now that’s a big change!
The nation itself was also officially birthed after that Great Awakening ❤️🇺🇸 All men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights among which are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness 🤍🤍
Gods name is in the dead sea scrolls... it is Aravoth.
Keep following the TYr of Geneva. Good job.
As a person who is disabled sometimes it’s great to have programs at church for is. To be truthful at church we barely see people who look like us. I would want to at some point combine with people who look like me.
It is disrespectful to not say it
What a moving confession, on suffering 🙏 I am so tired of the superficial theodicies, they just don't make sense to me
