Australian Museum - LIFT TOUR
Rather surprising to only have 3 lifts in quite a big building.

Welcome to my first video of 2025, here's hoping it will be another fantastic year with lots of great filming opportunities. KiwiRail Action in Eastern Waikato - September 2024
It's very rare for Schindler 5500s to have call cancel in Australia, maybe as far as non-existent. But at least it has beeps The 1st lift is more likely to be a 2600 since it's got a 2600KG capacity & the inner door tracks are another reason. 5500s only go up to 2500KG.
As sad as it is to loose another set of Mackenzie & Holland barrier mechs, It was a well overdue upgrade as their old barrier mechs were defiantly showing their age. Glad filmed there when I did.
@@Jamie-Tane-media Same here, I have got quite a few shots here myself.
Now this crossing lost the mechnician Holland barriers gone now they have 5 left now
@@A.MRailPhotography Oh right, I suppose there is also some down South as well.
Well there is some in hastings
According to the Plimmer Towers Wikipedia page, the car park was built in 1963 & the Plimmer Towers building itself was built in 1977 & was the tallest building in NZ from 1977-1981
This was either an Otis or DEVE-Schindler before being replaced with Pioneer
Are you in Australia?
Great coverage well done

This elevator is nothing but a glitchy elevator!
The only funniest thing that the indicator shows a down arrow while going up! LOL! 😂
EPIC Lift. There were Express Lifts at Grosvenor Shopping centre in Northampton with these Buttons. They have now replaced the buttons to Common Dewhurst Buttons.
@@LGCT There’s still quite a few original Express Lifts here in New Zealand.
Nice video i like the wch e bell and type 3 e bell good job perfect ❤ from CallumAndrewMcneill
This Lift and the Express Lift in Allen Street are both in the same building along with a big Express gated lift in the Exchange Atrium. These are all in the same Complex
There was a new upgraded light at taradale road napier and it was replaced of the old one
I believe that a couple of signs inside these lifts have covered up some LCD floor indicators

Because of the door tracks & its large size, these are either 2400s or 2600s
One thing to point out is that australian level crossing has 3 little led lights on the barrier arms in which 2 flashes and 1 static
@@raypatel5108 True, I completely forgot to point that out.
Okay this one really sounds like the railroad crossings we've got in Canada. A lot of the electronic bells in new zealand for level crossings are a slower pace than some, some here are as well but i haven't seen any yet. I've either seen the westinghouse mechanical bells or western cullen hayes mechanical bells as well as the electronic western cullen hayes bell. Then we've got general signals type 1 and type 2 around as well. then i know there is a pretty rare safetran type 1 E=bell around close to where i am.
The genuine mechanical bells are very rare in New Zealand now. They're rapidly replacing them with the electronic versions.
@ bummer hey? Damn.
It's pretty common for Otis Gen2, Otilec & 300VFE in Australia to use Series 1 chimes, especially since Otilec & 300VFE have them as the default chimes
Oh right that makes sense now.
I think it's padded because of safety reasons.
The left-hand lift was modded with Dewhurst US91-15, not Everbright & is still on its original logic, unlike the right hand lift, which no longer has its original logic
I found someone thats been copying your videos and his account name is Albert Lane
This is a super quick Monospace from Kone. It's a nice lift even with the padding inside. I like the voice since I'm a fan of the Australian Kone voices, this one being KMQC (Kone Macquarie Centre Voice). Also the beeping KDS 300-AUS buttons are always a win in my books
@@westburnworld I like the voice as well
Please Stand Clear Of The Door
I find it interesting that KiwiRail seem to have gone back to installing the lights an electronic bells on their separate poles, Practically up that end of the country it seems, Instead of using the extension bracket off the barrier pole as they have in more recent times in other places. This is how they used to install level crossings with barriers back in the Tranz Rail era of the very very late 90s till the late 2000s, And of course the examples being Shannan, Mackays, And Waterloo Quay In Wellington all from that era. Great video of the upgraded level crossing, However when you have windy intros like that, It is actually hard to hear everything you are saying.
@@Jamie-Tane-media Yes I have noticed that myself and unfortunately yes it was quite windy when I filmed this video.
This level crossing was one of my first ever level crossing videos on TH-cam back when I first started my channel around 2010.
This lift has actually been replaced again by a kone destination
Wow
I got that crossing before and after
Where is this one located?
@@homersimpson2263 Just north of Shannon
Sad to see the old equipment go.
These lifts are Thyssenkrupp Evolution MRL's. I can tell these are Thyssenkrupp because of the chimes. TKE/Thyssenkrupp's small MRL models are Synergy & their large models are Evolution.
Cheers for the info.

@@liftrailphotographyinnz3992 Just saying it since your lift tours are good
It's a nice EcoMod that Kone did on these 1979 classics.

That's interesting, I knew they put in a new tram network a couple of years ago, But I didn't realize they had some of them not powered by wires above, Very unusual. I haven't been to Sydney in years, I think the last time I went was sometime between 2001-2003, And the only tram line they had at the time ran next to Patty's market. There used to be a monorail circuit in the CBD as well, But that is sadly gone.
Nice one. Can't beat those Western Cullen Hayes mechanical bells. That is for sure.
@@Jamie-Tane-media I agree
