Your welcome 🤙
I've just spent the afternoon trying to pull that top spring over to the other side. I came for the answer of how to do, and you delivered. Put the springs on the shoes before installing on the backing plate. Brilliant! With many thanks.
Happy to have been a help, and thanks again for your support 🤙
Nice machine. I always liked those machines.
The best!👌
Thanks for pointing out the drainage point. The previous owners of mine had fixed the rust there and filled in the hole which really only made things worse.
good video yeah
Thank you 🤙
ya, every time you open a can of it, have another jug to transfer it to.. happens every time
Should come with a spare,😜🤙
@@Joesrustbuckets Drill/ Nail a hole through the top and tape it shut or use a silicone plug when you're done. You're welcome.
Thanks fella, very useful.
No worries buddy, best of luck 🤞
I like the way you did that, I’m using a new inverter mig , been a learning curve. Thanks Phil.
Thanks Phil, if it helps I’m happy bud,🤙
That's a big project! Good thing it's not very rusty lol. Excited to see the progress!
Hi Bren, yeah blessed with the lack of rust, so lucky to get one in this condition 😳😂😂 this could be a trophy puller😊🤙🍻
That looks like a fun little project to be work on, and a useful little tool. I'm sure it will have anew lease of life by time you've finished fettling it. ✌️
Hey Mully, Hope all's good with you, yeah should be interesting and fun of course, can't wait to sink it, lol☘
I finally had a chance to start getting caught up on my backlog of videos to watch. I made sure to watch yours first! I hope that one day I can be as patient and do repairs as good as you Joe! Another great video. For someone doing this repair in the future there could be no better video or teacher! keep up the great work!
Hey Bren, thats such a nice thig to say, I sure do hope it helps folk, that's the only reason I do it, I dont do it all the time but when I do do it I hope it covers exactly what people need to know, thanks againg buddy for the kind words, Hope you get back out there soon and start producing.best wishes joe.
I assume that you now know there’s another screw that locks the sliding door trim on? No hammer required 🤞
Hi Joe, I would say wet your chest and get the job done, Man a lot of work on the crispy parts lol👀🛠 .Have great fun brother, catch you up at the next vid stay safe take care and keep well fed, Greetings.Hubertus🙏🏻🇳🇴🇳🇱👍🏻🍀☮🇮🇪
Hey Hubertus, hope your feeling a bit better, Thanks buddy, will get to it eventually, lol stay well buddy. see you in the next one chow.☘
I love how there is no gate keeping with you!! And no click bait either! Thank you for the shared knowledge x
You're so welcome!👌☮🇮🇪
This ones a little different, but im sure youll find it interesting, my plan going forward is to get it running and then restore it, It will be nice to do some spanner work on this, and im sure it will serve it purpose pulling old vw's around the place.
Beautiful colour isn’t it .. after its scrub! X
Yeah, i'm loving it too, just gotta get to it.
Hahahaha! No escaping that rust! Look forward to the clean up and TLC it’ll be given x
When changing the 0.8mm wire to 0.6mm, do you have to change the liner as well as the tip?
Hi Richard, Thanks for watching and hope it helps you, No is the answer to your question, you only have to change the liner if you go up in size. There’s four liner sizes, 1.6 to 1.2. 1.2 to 1.0. 1.0 to 0.8 0.8 to 0.6 , which covers both sizes, biggest size first, I have a 0.8 mm in there at the moment so no I don’t need to do anything, it covers 0.6mm hope this helps, 🤙
@@Joesrustbuckets Hi Joe, thanks for your quick and comprehensive reply. You have certainly help me and I’m sure so many others. I’m just starting my Mig journey so really appreciate the time and effect you put into your videos, love your work. Perth Western Aust.
Hey Richard that means a lot buddy, it's the very reason I started this channel, thank you.👌
With this one you should never again have to deal with the Crows Nest syndrome, Finding and knowing what is the perfect wire pressure at the tip is an valuable asset to laying down the perfect spot welds, plug welds or any welding in general, especially when working on lighter Sheet metal work or auto body work.Thank me wit your comments and likes, Cheers Guyz...👌
Great welding advice here mate, I’m the king of the bird nest wire😂 using the 4m lead its a pain sometimes.
Hey Nick, thanks buddy, yeah I thought it was time to let this one go, no more crows nest, which are a complete pian in the bxxxxocxx, yeah 4 Mt lead and not nice to have to cut it off, and then sort out the rest 😜🤙😡😂😂
You did a really nice job on this video. Thank you very much!
Hey Tony/Heather, thanks Guyz. 🤙
Great vid, thank you 👍
Hi Gary, thanks buddy, 🤙
@@Joesrustbuckets my pleasure i enjoy your work and your vids 👍, I inherited a welder and although I've done some bits with i don't really know what settings I should be using etc 🤭
@@garylatto4191 I take it that it is a mig welder,? are you interested in mig welding car body work, or thicker material, what dials are on your weld set, ie, a dial with 1 to 5 and maybe a course setting 1 to 4 and the your wire setting knob, if I know what knobs are on your weld set, I can give you a rough idea of what you should be on regarding welding 1mm sheet metal. Cheers Gary.
Good tips 🤙
@@VWJawbreaker cheer’s Gary, hope you’re all doing well, great build vid bud, I’ll be back 😜🤙🤙
I agree Joe, some people replace every panel of the car and call it a restoration?
Hi Jimamizzi, thanks for your interest and input, also not the easy fit up that is expected, when replacing a complete panel, live and learn aI suppose.🤙
Why didn't u just replace the complet hub with a complete set? Ita bout the same cost and u dont have to sûck with the bearings.
Hi Tamassuri didn’t see anything like complete sets, also I would think original hubs would be better than spurious ones, 🤙
@@Joesrustbuckets thx
But Joe is a good to teacher and a master to the trade !
Hi Clarence, thanks for your interest and comment, and yes less clean up and but much more expensive process, 🤙

Nice work on that door and will be better then new when done. and the same with new pieces, the most off them are just crappy to install.

All good here in Brum , my project VW T2 is also ticking along very slowly but progress is progress!
Question: There is wiring coming from the front trunk area down to the front firewall, then to the outside of the car. Where does that wiring go from there?
Hi maldon, sorry about the delay the wire loom runs from the front down along the side of the car it goes to the regulator also the battery wires and then ends up in the engine bay, coil carb ,etc.hope this helps.👌
@@Joesrustbuckets Thanks!
Great work
Thanks
Very good but could do without the music. Such a distraction

I definitely had a similar reaction to my panoramaxx. It's a game changer. Three years into mine and I confidently tell people I can drive in it. Feels good all day and you can see EVERYTHING. My only issue for hi amp welding outdoors is the shade value having a maximum of 12. I'm looking into going to the Helix Quattro to have shade 14.

@@hardware5777 Happy Birthday buddy, hope you’re having a great day, hope you’re doors need fixing 😜 seriously I hope you’re all doing well bud, yeah it’s been a while, you know the story 🤙🎂🍰🥂🍾
Brexit shafted us all really didn’t it 😔 I’m from the north, have family all over the island and I now live in Scotland. All of a sudden sending birthday presents etc became ridiculous money - it caught us all out in the tiniest of things becoming stupidly expensive 😢
For sure Lizzy, I bought a few bits recently from eBay uk, thought things might have got a little easier, and it turned out to be a complete nightmare, one item got returned to the uk twice, and finally arrived here on the third attempt, Taric code was not issued on it, pure disaster, the other items I still have not received, as they were sent back as well, no Taric code , same problem, they are in transit as we speak, everything is crossed at this end lol, worse it has got, bargains were to be had, but like you say, prohibitively expensive now, and you might not even get what you paid for. 🤙 best wishes jo
The thing about asking for 10 mins alone - I’d always have done that, and always allowed it but recently have heard of someone doing that to two seemingly very keen buyers who brought tools “to be able to have a good look at everything” on a T5 Camper. They seemed super interested, took their time to look everywhere but then didn’t even talk about buying and headed off. The seller was confused, felt in her gut there must’ve been a scam but couldn’t figure it out. Went out the next morning to find oil in the coolant and when the recovery man came he said he’d seen it before, they ask for time on their own, add oil to the coolant and wait for it to reappear for sale at a lower price for spares/repairs 😭 So given my bus is both my lifeline and my pride & joy - anyone coming to see it can look wherever they want but I’ll be glued to their side as they do it.
PS other than that I love your vids 🫶🏻 and love how they’ve taught me about all the fantasy repairs I’ll make to my fantasy T2 that I’ll get and weld back to health in my dreams 😜🤣
Hi lizzy, yeah definitely would not let people bring tools to my bus, and would always be in the same area as them, seems like there’s always a gangster among us, lol 🤙
I just bought a 77 bay today , getting it delivered tomorrow so this video is a great refresher course for me . I already own a 72 so kinda know what I can sort out and what i can’t . Wish me luck .
Delighted for you buddy, hope it’s all and more than you need or want, best wishes Antonio🤙
