TOUCH Movie Review - A SOULFUL Journey for a Longing Heart
i think the movie would have been 10x better if it was set in college. that said, there wouldn't have been the dynamic of risk on the part of miller, and naivety on cairo. still super fucking creepy and uncomfortable to watch
I feel like the timing of the movie was way off. It's like I totally don't understand it. Pity because I thought the performances were great but all of a sudden the movie is over and I feel that without it being full circle, ... this is simply very underwhelming
so hollywood cant handle casting from youth to old used ai
Totally agree with your criticisms. I think the movie is carried by the chemistry between Florence and Andrew. Otherwise, yeah, the story wasn’t super engaging. Glad I found this channel!
So, what you’re missing through lack of experience of the job is, there are periods where the job feels dark and hopeless all the time. Where you felt it was monotonous, that’s a huge reality of working in a busy EMS system. You miss out on a lot of life working five 12 hour shifts a week, and then try to recover from it. Especially when you work nights.
Looking forward to watching and critiquing the movie
Venom 1 is still the best movie they made
This seems a worthwhile film. The subject is not to interesting to me, went to catholic boarding school, but the actors and the fact that you mention it is a thriller might be worth the time, and I know a lot about cardinals, conclaves, white smoke, etc, Thanks for anoher insightful and interesting review!
Yes, this movie has some shortcomings (for instance we could do with a little fewer jump scares) but I had a blast watching in. Actually I liked it more than the previous one. Now spoilers, and why I think both endings actually work, though I would leave the demon to viewers imagination. This is the trauma demon, it is very difficult/impossible to overcome trauma without help. And both characters are lonely. Particularly Skye. She is also traumatized much more that Rose was, she deliberately caused the crash which killed her boyfriend and badly injured herself. That is why she was a "better" host for the demon, easier to overcome. The tragedy of Skye lies also in the fact that the only way to escape the demon would come at a horrific cost for her, worse then death. Maybe it is good that she does not know it, only the viewer does. She would have to kill again, this time it would have to be deliberate premeditated murder. Not an impulse in a drunk/drugged state. Naomi Scott gave a phenomenal performance. To me that is the role of 2024, male or female.
Not even Tom Hardy’s performance and bromance as Eddie/Venom saved this for me from being an in-cohesive mess of a plot and over stuffed with boring subplots and characters. Unfortunately this whole trilogy is a miss for me.
Do people actually find the smiling gimmick to be creepy? the whole "creepy smile" thing has just been so over done in horror, I just find it cringey at this point. I feel like it was done a bit more tastefully in the first one, whereas in this movie someone would do the "creepy smile" before every single scare, and sometimes the "scare" its self would just be someone smiling. Idk, there were some good parts and the movie wasnt horrible, but it felt like bubblegum popcorn horror cloaked in smart cinematography and cool sound design
🤷♂️ Depends who's smiling. I wouldn't call most of them creepy looking.
I think the ending of Smile 1 was fitting Rose made progress, she took a step forward but not nearly enough to fully beat her trauma and she knew that And yes these movies have heavy symbolism but its also gonna follow the rules of the curse despite if it makes sense symbolically or not cause at the end of the movie that thing still is an acutal demon that they arent completely sure on how to deffeat yet
My friend’s husband caught his cancer early a couple of years ago, and he’s had a few rounds of treatment. He has no immune system and still has tests every few months. I hate cancer 😖!
I don’t think it’s just allegory. I think it’s also about a literal demon that feeds on victims who are vulnerable due to trauma. The ending of smile makes sense because it’s not an allegory about overcoming trauma. It’s a film about a demon who preys on broken people. Analyzing films for themes is fun but I think you are trying to make these movies more about subtext than letting it be a horror film, about a truly scary idea.
Well sure. It's certainly still about a reality/memory distorting monster. I'd be hard pressed to believe she'd stuff her cat in a child's birthday present and forgot about it entirely, solely because of unresolved trauma. It is still a supernatural horror story on the surface. Digging deeper is just what I do on this channel. 😉
Finn Parker is a director to watch. I just hope he will show us he can do more than Smile. I would prefer he doesn’t do smile 3 next.
great review!
Appreciate it!
Masterpiece special sequel 🥳🤩😍
You’re about to blow up my guy!
Thanks! 😊
this channel should and will have hundreds and thousands of subs soon
Thanks! Sure hope so!
Hey been watching a couple of your reviews and I want to say your quite good at being able to describe a movie without spoiling. For sure deserving of a sub(and hopefully many more)
Thanks! 😊
I think Smile 2 was so good, I mean it was scene after scene that just got more intense each time… also the jump scares wasn’t ur average jump scare, a lot of them got me and i appreciated that. The last 25 minutes goes off the rails in the best way and I loved the first Smile but I think this movie definitely out did it.
Hi, just wanted to say I really enjoy a lot of your reviews for their depth and brevity. I hope you start to see more stats on your channel soon! You deserve it for the work you put into these vids! :)
Thanks a bunch! Nice comments like these really keep me motivated. 😊
If you haven't seen any of the trailers for this movie and you're interested in seeing it, don't watch them. They show WAY too much of the 3rd act.
After 6 years in EMS I think the grit and darkness and cruelty which goes unnoticed by the management is the most realistic aspect.
Loved this.
you should go write, your reviews are really good, now doubt youre an excellent writer
I want Black Mask and Killer Croc..
I really enjoyed your review
Thanks for watching!
I walked out of the movie wanting to hang out with Oswald too 😅
Articulate review. I really like Seb Stan so i prlly will check it out especially because of the subject matter.
Both films are shit Joker films. I support their failure.
I enjoyed the review thank you. This seems like a movie I'll watch when it's on streaming.
Definitely needs more Wow Platinum! She made the movie for me.
The movie wasn't confusing, but it was a bit slow. However, it was engaging enough, provided you're in the right mindset to watch it. If it doesn't capture your attention within the first ten minutes, you might not make it through the entire film. The characters are essentially problem-solvers you call upon to fix issues. I'd actually watch a sequel which was elaborated in the end.
Looks like a shitty less horror inspired version of Bioshock He’s no Andrew Ryan
Coppola was just getting stoned and making scenes up as he went along. Granted that worked for Apocalypse Now.
After reading over the Wikipedia page and all the stuff about how long Coppola was trying to get this movie off the ground, it's baffling that it is so terrible. He's so pompous and ego-driven, but maybe he's just been so out of touch for so long that he believes this is what audiences want.
This was a personal project not for the avg viewer it was Dedicated for his wife as a passion project. Beautiful message, AN ART PIECE, but just as art is some art is demanding to understand. This movie is exactly that demanding for avg viewers, if you want entertainment watch WILD ROBOT(similar allegories ). This was an expression and there was a order to the Chaos. Great acting all around and it is an EGO movie forsure!
Just your descirption upfront about building a city with megalon is more ofirmative than any of the trailers I've seen. If only that detail had been included I think I would've had some idea what it would be about.
Well said. I hated the movie for pretty much exactly the same reasons. I see that you at least had a few minor positives about the movie. I have none. Garbage. Good luck with the channel. I'll be back after 50k.
you'll be back after what?
What I heard from set is that many of the actors were taking liberties and changing their lines in the middle of filming and there was no push back from Ford because he's old and not all there anymore. Just hearsay but would explain a lot.
If you go into this film with a reviewers mentality you have no chance no understanding it
This couldn't be any further from the truth. When seeing a movie with the intention of making content, we have to approach it with the "leave no stone unturned" mentality. It's the casual watches we pay less attention to.
I've seen the movie as a normal person, it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Terrible in every sense possible but let's say it's my opinion. Objectively it was overall inconsistent about everything.
The copium is strong on this one
@@MovieMuseOfficial I think Ideally youre going in with no intentions- just with an open mind
@@lanalan4157 sorry you didn't get it
you are very sexy
Fact: Francis Ford Coppola does not know the definition of the word "fable."
I mean yes but more as an Art piece then movie for the avg viewer!
Good review! I'll be watching. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! 😊
20 years as a paramedic. Worked some urban areas. There’s inaccuracies, yeah, but those emotions are real. This movie isn’t that far from real life. It’s years of exposure crammed into a 2 hours, but many of those experiences really do happen.
Don't know how I found your channel, but glad youtube recommended it to me! Great quality review and video! I'm sure your channel will take off soon with the effort you're putting in!
😊 Thanks!
Its depressing just like being a paramedic lol
Word
Thanks for your review. Nice, like the main actors but definitively, this is for streaming!
Ff/paramedic here and I’d rather have a dead dog stuffed in my locker than some of the shit that’s happened to me lol
Anticipatory grief is worse than the loss. At least after the loss you have something to do (cry, make final arrangements).
