I'm honestly not a fan, I like the slightly unique BDU that Alpha-9 has in ODST, and I despise the non-ODST shoulders Mickey and Romeo are wearing. (also as a side note; I find it funny how the redesigned ODST BDU alpha 9 wears normally honestly fits with most of the Halo Online aesthetics, more than it does with Halo 3's aesthetics proper)

My main gripe with Halo has always been the oversaturation. The setting is a dark and gritty war for humanitys survival. Yet in game its just a bunch of kids running around in bright pastel colors. The Ludonarrative Dissonance is strong in Halo. ODST and Reach are the only ones that fit their setting.

Nah Halo 3 art style will always be peak Halo design. Reach's designs are good on their own but they miss the point in a lot of ways. They were never as departed from the classic art style as 343's games were, but they pale in comparison.

If only the developers realized that remastering Halo 3 and ODST would make so much more money

After reading the books, the line from Veronica “at least they listen.” was a bit of a low blow. Buck carries the crosses of his fallen sauadmates everyday.

Im more of a Halo 2 ODST fan, but to each their own.

Helmet is goofy, the plume is out of place.

The halo 2 brutes match the aesthetic so well, as do all the assets for the weapons.

Probably because the Halo Reach art style was a natural evolution of the halo look. Unlike whatever the fuck 343 was trying to do with their games

The reason this fits so well is because ODST did the "Tactical designs with a grungy color palette" vibe a year before Reach Ironically, Reach is the one that gets all the shit for it

as far as flood introductory levels go in the games, I think halo 3 probably had the weakest, but this looks phenomenal! Amazing work!

I really needed this, halo reach was so beautiful in my eyes because of the detail and gritty ness of the world surrounding us. In my personal opinion i feel like every halo game needed to be made in these way, while still having the funny comments of Marines

Why the halo 4 weapons? Wouldn’t it have been easier to program the halo 3 ones since reach is built on top of halo 3s engine?

343 made a huge mistake changing up how the game looked. The new battle rifle looked worse than the old one. Also Infinite’s weapon sandbox was bad. They dropped most of the iconic weapons like the Plasma Rifle, the Bruteshot (Banished are main enemy like WTF) Covenant Carbine, Beam Rifle, OG Shotgun, and most importantly the M6G magnum.

the only thing I dont like is the bipod on romeo's rifle doesnt bounce around when he says "what am I supposed to do with this" etc etc. Its the little details you remember and notice when theyre gone haha

GRIZZLY ODST

Tbh Halo art style and graphic were at its peak with Reach and 2A (not multiplayer version). Others like CEA, 5, even Infinite, and especially 4 were just a downgrade.

For those wondering what happened to the other ODSTs besides Buck’s team. In the book New Blood, it was said that they all perished when the carrier performed slipspace jump, tearing their pods to pieces as they were in the blast range. If Buck’s team had adjusted the trajectory a second too late, they would’ve join them.

This darker colour palette alone would be too scary for 343 so it would be saturated by 1000% and made T for Teen.

I loved both 3 and Reach’s art styles. Both had different strengths but each one just felt perfect somehow. If you met somewhere in the middle, I’m not sure if it’d actually be perfection or if you’d lose what made each so great on their own.
