Teriyaki Chicken Stir Fry
Teriyaki Sauce
**Yields 1 ½ cups of sauce**
Ingredients
¼ cup of soy sauce
1 cup water
½ teaspoon ground ginger
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
5 tablespoons of brown sugar
1 to 2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons of cornstarch
¼ cup cold water
Preparation
Mix all but cornstarch and cold water in saucepan and begin heating.
Mix cornstarch and cold water in separate bowl.
After sauce is simmering, add cornstarch mixture, whisking well until sauce thickens.
Continue to heat till sauce is thickened to your liking, sauce will thicken as it stands.
If sauce is too thick, just add a little water to thin out
Teriyaki Chicken Stir Fry
Ingredients
½ to 2/3 cup of Teriyaki Sauce
1 pound of diced chicken breast or chicken thighs
1 green pepper, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Oil for frying
NOTE: you can use your preference for vegetables; onions, garlic, red pepper, broccoli, snap peas, green beans, etc
Preparation
Heat oil in skillet or wok
Add chicken, season with salt and pepper.
Cook chicken fully, remove from pan and set aside.
Sauté green peppers (or vegetable of choice) till slightly softened.
Add in ½ to 2/3 cup of teriyaki sauce and return chicken to pan.
Stir to combine and allow to simmer for about 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to combine.
Serve over jasmine rice
