June 2nd - First Day of Kiting in Kalpitiya
We arrived on the 1st of June but late in the evening to just have dinner and rest. Here is a tour of KSL, Kitesurfing Lanka, with a full board. The only place in Kalpitiya that can host our big group. The 2nd is our first session but we had rain in the morning which effect the wind.

June 3rd was a rainy morning and we got to the big Lagoon around 11:30 AM and stayed until 3 PM. Good day for everyone in the water to refresh their skills.

June 6th at Mini Vella with solid wind. The newbies improved so much and the experienced riders enjoyed the stronger wind. They are ready for the big Vella!
June 7th - Vella Island

June 7th - Vella Island will always be my favorite kitesurfing spot with flat water and strong wind. Our group enjoyed and progressed so much in one trip.
June 8th - Donkey Point

June 8th - Anek Maneephan 1st time out of Thailand and kitesurfing in Kalpitiya, Sri Lanka. Donkey Point is a challenging spot but everyone progresses there. What a feast at the end of the day at KSL with Seafood BBQ and the best party in Kalpitiya

June 9th - Kappalady is a small lagoon where the boys love to go big and throw out tricks. 10km downwinder to Donkey has been my must-redo mission since last year. June 10th - My favorite one of the whole trip is the Puttalam BIG Lagoon downwind. It looks so far but actually only a 13km straight line distance. The small sand bar in the middle is a gem with a massive shallow water area. June 11th & 12th - What an unforgettable overnight adventure at Vella Island for half of our group! 🌴✨ Kiting at sunset and sunrise with winds at 22-26 knots (and some exhilarating gusts up to 30 knots) was a lifetime experience. June 13th was the grand finale of kitesurfing in Sri Lanka for many in our 2nd group, and what a day it was! 🎉 Our adventure began with a fun tour of Kalpitiya in a Tuk Tuk and motorbike before heading to the beautiful Kalpitiya Lagoon. I don't know about the V12 but I've had v9 and v10. The v9 has a good 3 knot advantage over the v10 in light wind.
We had Edge since V8 and this V12 is out performing all the other. V11 is a bit heavy but it's a tank. Keep in mind the design has changed after the V9 from racing to all around big boost kite for the Ozone Edge.
Do you have any videos of kiting up at Chaloklum? Also do people wing foil near Baan Tai or is it too shallow?
yes I have many videos in Chaloklum and Malibu beach; check them out. Winter time we have high tide in Ban Tai, south coast of KP and people enjoy foiling right off the the beach.
When is the best time to kite in Koh Phangan?
Last year September was good but best is from mid Jan to end of March. It's not 20+ but we do have more wind to kite in winter. Summer storm riding sessions can get up to 20-35 knots sessions.

We have 3 spots on Koh Phangan: Ban Tai Beach - our main teaching and riding spot with with 9 months a year Haad Rin Beach (famous Full Moon Party Beach) - NE wind mid-Nov to mid-Jan and mostly storm strong on shore wind and big waves Malibu Beach in Chaloklum, north of the island - NE wind same as above when it swing more north than east then its a heaven

Many kiters use tube kites, just like this one, for water and snowkiting. You can also use foil kites for snow since u won't need that much power to get going.

all these flash flood water wash into the sea and we kiteboard or swim in daily. We only live once and making a different for a good cause is worth all the risks.
