Is This The End For Entry-level Software Engineers? | Current Software Engineer Market Trend
มุมมอง 6K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
Tech layoffs continue, and what does it tell us about the market? Seniority levels can be confusing. In big tech, 'senior' typically refers to someone with 5 years of experience (YOE), but at smaller companies, it could be as low as 2 YOE. Additionally, many companies don't offer dedicated mid-level roles, creating a gap between junior and senior positions. Layoff tracker: layoffs.fyi/ Entry le...

what about embedded firmware and linux drivers engineers, will they also be replaced by AI in next 10 years
If AI democratizes, more SAAS companies like, sap, salesforce, spacex can be built at a fraction of cost, so mor global gdp boost, cause government cant stop investing capital to stop inflation, US did a mistake, which trump will change, more gdp, more skilled jobs, I would say more jobs than before, cause most industries in future will have regulations and therefore, human oversight, so more companies, more jobs, its the transition that sucks
The dependency on this technology alone is a bad idea, you take a huge risk to do that just to make development cheaper? Good luck
The current of tech, we come from coders idolizing to we don’t know what we supposed to do now
is it even achievable as a self taught SWE? (-_- )
I love your moon-light tricks!
Learn C++ and let it mess with your head. Then go into internet of things. You will thank me later. I believe learning a tech that most people are not considering is always going to be a plus for you. My analogy is this. Go fresh into new techs and master them. The next thing you know by the time people go into them, you already a senior level tech expert.
Dude you are just encouraging these No code-low code platforms to take over your role 😂
What scares people at first is what will be their destiny lol I remembered people talking about object oriented programming in Android and I thought to myself that it’s more difficult than building web apps. But now I believe the more difficult the language the less AI can do 😂
The best job in software development is embedded software
What about DevOps??
Entry-level developers will be at risk. For most of my assignments at school, I tried using ChatGPT and it was able to guide me, I just fixed a few things, that were scary, we must know that ChatGPT in 10 years, will improve, and it will be able to do more tasks. So yeah, entry-level jobs in certain fields in technology will be affected at least by 45 to 50%.
Sodtware development... Never ending work.. Never ending coding...short term getting brain strokes and heart strokes
I don’t leetcode, but I feel like it’s useful for one thing: it hammers down DS & Algorithm concepts which we spend a lot of time on in college studying these topics. Everywhere I’ve read, they all say to master the basics and foundations of DS & Algorithms…. So to play devils advocate, I’d think it’s worth it to do them. Now, I should follow what I said up there and start doing leetcode.
I've been 5 years a software engineer and practicing leet code overtime just make me more crazy since when we stuck we just memorize the solution. But, you know, many companies use leet code for interview process.
more shorts pls
CAT breed?
Hey I liked your advice on the leetcode-style interview questions but don't you think you should include some advice on behavioral questions, personal project info, resume, or memory / low level knowledge? Thanks
ChatGPT won't kill any jobs... sorry man this scare mongering is totally wrong and unfair. Companies need to be able to afford AI in the first place, and AI itself needs to be fine tuned along the way because humans write whatever it does. It is so flawed beyond its basic function. How many percentage of companies out there do you think believe in AI, or even plan on investing in it, so much so that all these jobs will be replaced out of the ENTIRE job market? Less than 1%
I only have 2 days to study and I am freaking out
70% of tech entry tech job are now in India so unfair for new graduates
Disagree on each second I watch; programming side of data science job will go first. Programming is the most repetitive and easiest job. You need logic, and models but programs software can write easily.
This is the guy that will tell you to stay away from QA 😂
You can now write a prompt and ChatGPT will generate the entire project source code in a zip for you. I just launched my trade bot fully functional with chatGPT without knowing any python. I expect over half of software engineers will lose their jobs in the next 10 years.
Looks like it's time to become a Plumber or HVAC tech
Hay plagas que aún piensan que tienen el control del aire, boyscuts , es como afiliarse a una banda de alcohólicos sin punterías. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 He visto caer aviones en mis mente ahora no va a caer herney.
Most AI just copy and pastes bad code that STILL needs to be checked by an engineer. Quite frankly, everyone's job is getting replaced. But look at what happened with retail? They tried to replace chasiers and ended up still having to hire people to manage the machines ...lol they eliminated maybe 10-15% of retail cashier jobs. Ai doctors? Ai lawyers? All of thr positions you mentioned are largely safe because AI doesn't actually make solutions it just copies information.
I believe even development roles will be impacted, pretty much every role will be
Permise custodia percatar se

Why do people move their hands so much in TH-cam videos? It always seems so exaggerated. It’s very distracting. Especially at 1.5x
Keep it up Luca !
I don't want to be jobless due to AI
I work in IT for a bank and they are so risk averse they will never rely on ChatGPT or any fancy word predictor to make decision about their IT environment...
It’s not fancy word generator read try
Still the risk is too high for banks. The risk of getting it wrong is hundreds of millions in fines and loss of banking licenses. Being an engineer for a regulated bank is probably one of the most secure jobs you can have about now especially if you’re a full stack or backend engineer.
I found it hard to follow your video because you kept on cutting the video too quickly. Please don't do that!
Tech/Software architects is the hardest to substitute, i think. Some one have to make the decisions based of subjective reasoning, and there is need of some one the be responsible. IA can't have the responsibility.
Software developers programmed themselves out of jobs. Ouch.
Great insights on GenAI. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Sandra
For me, AI is not replacing me, but "AI + Outsourcing" is replacing me as a software engineer in the US.
Thank you for sharing this. Are you experiencing this first hand? Would love to hear more about which industry you are seeing this in
@@TechwithLuca Yes, this is happening in the US. Companies are replacing expensive software engineers here with cheaper engineers in lower cost countries. AI is accelerating this trend.
This one has the same observation th-cam.com/video/6eqtPjv0WUM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BfeVIovD66Pmo_uB
I know is industry specific for example: Google is moving some jobs abroad. But there are regulation and certain security reasons that not all roles teams can be moved abroad. Especially some AI centric and focused dev roles
God may bless you, thank you so much, the first video of ALL TH-cam, that goes straight to which roles are at risk instead of saying "software is going to die" because it does not have sense to say that at a software platform as youtube xd
Thanks for having me on! 😄I still cringe at anyone using the term "fulltime youtuber".. including myself lol
what is your view of website administrator job is it in risk ?
it is at risk with or without AI
Seems like cyber security is protected. Penetration testing as well. Thanks for not fluffing out the video with nonsense.
I used to study programming at university but got a degree in Chinese. I want to study Python and JavaScript and study neural network frameworks and utilize my data science attention to detail skillset.
Hey Luca I have few questions, I’m currently 23 I decided to study software engineering this year but I’m confused weather to go uni because of my age. I wanted to know if you took any lesson outside of your university.
It's great that companies require again the university careers for jobs, a lot of people would be filtered in that way
😂😂😂😂 ok this is whole wrong do you work 1 day IT industry. All the roles you mentioned in video it will not be extinct for over 20 years. Everyone who works in industry should have adaptability and learn quick new knowledge. When you stop becoming obsolete.
Bro what about data engineering
Cobol is still inused
Not tech related question but do you think the supply chain management industry will still be a good career field option in future with all the automation going on ?
