Well ours don't they improve public transport in the area

Tall buildings isn’t really a sign of progress but more ego. However the difficulty is that Birmingham is a lot higher up with a close airport and height restrictions were put in place cause of planes. However they are slowly loosening it

I do agree with you Manchester is looking fantastic,it puts Birmingham to shame with land becoming very expensive you can't keep building out you must build up.Taller skyscrapers will give more room for green spaces..

I think you are not actually looking at wthe whole City Cetre, Birmingham City Centre has loads of high rise buildings and at least 5 under construction and two of the tallest council flats in Europe in the City Centre at Horse Fair Island

@@dynamitetobi Birmingham Airport does not affect it now due to it's runway extension and since the Telecom tower was upgraded to digital; transmisin that does not cause a problem either now

@@dynamitetobi The Height restrictions in Birmingham for tall buildings have ben relaxed now that Birmingham Airport has a longer Runway and the Telecom Tower now uses degital telecoms

Spasmodic trams, well at the moment most of the tram network uses old railway lines in the West Midlands, and The Commonwealth games was paid for by Birmingham City council and the West midlands and came in under budget and made a proffit for the area. no it is just the City concil that was bankrupt like many other councils in the UK

@@peterwilliamallen1063 Five Ways roundabout surrendering the Broad Street underpass to the sporadic light rail and the new chicanery onto Hagley Road is certainly inconveniencing many for the benefit of few.

@@philhealey4443 The five ways underpass is used by both the tram and Bus services to and from Birmingham City Centre and is definately not just for the few as both the Bus services and Trams are full using this route it is just cars that can not use it now

@peterwilliamallen1063 I would contend that "just" the cars are the vast majority. And many of those are also displaced from the A38 arterial route through the city by the congestion charge. And many others now create extra jams near my home trying to avoid Five Ways, way beyond experience prior to the congestion charge and roundabout modifications.

@@philhealey4443 So how long have you lived in Birmingham mate, I have lived in Birmingham for 69 years and the private car has always caused traffic problems in Birmingham and the vast majority of cars now do not have to pay the CO levy, sorry in Brum we don't pay a congestion charge that applies to London Only in Birmingham you pay for CO emmisions from your car exaust and if your car was registered from at leat 02 you do not pay this charge, no roundabout modifications have been made apart from 5 ways Edgbaston for trams and Buses and the people causing jams arround 5 ways are the selfish people who come in from outside of Birmingham from Kidderminster, Worcester, and the Black Country who refuse to use public transport to work in Birmingham
