Visions Of Oregon
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 29 พ.ค. 2015
Come with me and explore beautiful Oregon's deserts, mountains, beaches and anything historical that I can find. My channel is about beautiful scenery, hiking, summiting mountains, photography, history and as my channel evolves maybe gear reviews and what not's. On this channel you will not hear a lot of me talking or video of myself walking and talking because I find that to be really annoying in other videos and the scenery is way more beautiful to look at than me.

Tillicum Beach Campground | Yachats

Tillicum Beach Campground is popular for many reasons, but the number one and most obvious is its location right on the beach. Campers are lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean waves, then wake to sweeping views of the Pacific. The campground offers an ideal location for whale watching. Most campsites have beachfront views, and sunsets are not to be missed. Fishing, swimming and

In 1981, Jim and Janice Gerdemann purchased an acre of property on the edge of the Siuslaw National Forest in Yachats. Thickly forested with spruce and hemlock, but on a sloped site adjacent to the ocean, it was the perfect place to test the hardiness of rare and unusual plants from all over the world. For almost 30 years, Jim (a retired University of Illinois plant pathology professor) and Jan...

I can't even imagine how they built that bridge. It is so amazing.
I came for the video, but I stayed for Josh!
Thank you he loves making videos
Missed the whole west side, wtf
Beautiful video. Thanks.
Did this walk when we first moved here 20 years ago!
It was my first walk as well, when I got here in 2007
The lack of an accompanying map on the screen makes this video useless.
The Ring Two Filming Location!
I really loved this video!! Thanks for posting - it was very cool that you caught the footage of the lone bald eagle - quite a propos for these times, I'd say! ☺️ (And a great sign, I think!)
You are too cynical. Your video provides no benefit as too what the sites or campground look like.
The music absolutely sucks
Wonderful! Been our hometown for over 20 years now.
Im getting ptsd
Question: How do you know that it was tourists from other states who messed the trail up?
A tour of the crabbing docks would have been interesting.
If you had walked just a little further past the fenced in baby grave, you would’ve found my 3xgrgrandmother Catherine Hammond. She was born 1801 and passed away 1895. She has other family members there, but unfortunately, they are unmarked. I just visited there a few days ago and was so surprised to find it so far out.
4 miles from end to end
❤
Curious if that's your type of camping ? 😉
I used to live here as a child in the 1980's and I miss it so much. I will soon be back for, not only the beautiful scenery and the fresh air, but to see how much it has changed now that 2024 has hit.
Pretty much the same walk i would take while i was there last fall, winter, and spring. You even ended on one of the benches i sat and had my coffee while transfixed by the sights and sounds of the surf... i was lucky enough to have a room right on first street...✌️
Hope your well buddy.. whats happening?
Doing well trying to find time to get out and shoot more vids but between work and the little guy starting school and being sick since starting school it is a little hard.
@@visionsoforegon182 All understandable dude.. take care
Sorry just want to check in again hope you guys are well. I'm doing my usual trip around this / your part of the world... Was in the rock shop the other day and made some purchases... Better prices then in Australia it seems suprisingly enough. Dave
Is January a good time to visit Eugene- Florence- yachats? I want to visit these places but need to know if it’s a good time … atleast for walking on the beach
Today was great big waves splashing etc. Anywhere on the coast in that time frame be ready for rain. Even if they are not calling for rain be ready for rain and wind.
Thanks for not yapping or sticking your face in front of nature the entire time.
That drives me nuts. I want to see the view not someones face lol ha. The only time I talk is with the little guy and thats because he can not be quite lol ha
Corvette Oregon is for me !!!
I used to skateboard down 3rd street in the 80’s lol … way too much fun!!!! Love me some Yachats
I like this. A quiet walk with no drama. Feels like it's me walking.
Thank you that is what I was going for. It is also a miracle that the little guy could stay quite.
I was so surprised to see your son. 😂 He did a great job of keeping quiet 🙌 Nice walk, thanks.
This reminds me when i was over there i took a drive off 101 onto big creek road not far north of Heceta Head (im sure youll work it out on maps) and made a big circle coming back onto 101 via NF-1055 (near nancy creek bridge) ... it was lovely high up in the mountians .... One thing that was amazing i dont think ill get to experiance here in Aus was the strong smell of the pines in some of the forrests!... just awesome!.. i wanted to bottle it up and bring it home :) haha I notice your antenna there... not sure if your a cb,r and or ham? i had a cb set up when i was there but had issues with the antenna system i purchased and couldent tx very well however i did get to hear a friend from back here which was pretty cool
24:36 Sixth Street and Jefferson
Cool video, thanks for the tour. I watched it last week in preparation for my Seal Rock trip, then saw the chimney when checking out the Quail Street shore area.
Yes that is one of my favorite beaches.
It's an amazing view there. We had there fog/clouds, too but with sun 😊 Sometimes i can not realize that I was there. Such a beautiful, great nature
The Yatel, a very nice Motel, The blue Whale where we had good breakfast and at Luna good Dinner Are glad stopped in Yachats during our roadtrip.
I prob cooked your food then.
@@visionsoforegon182 Really? We stayed there from the 10. to 11. of September. I'm even more pleased to have watched your video. It's very nice to meet nowthrough TH-cam with ca.8500 kilometres between. :-) Wish you all the best.
@@alteshaus5627 Yep I have been a cook there for 7 years.

The Yatel!! Where I stood overnight in September...
Amazing sir keep going ❤
How quiet is this town? Can noisy neighbors be an issue here at all?
Lol I am noisy neighbor. It is pretty quite around here. Sorry for late reply my kid started school then of course we got sick 1 week later so have been a little busy
Didn’t even make a minute before realizing there was no reason to watch the rest. No bike lane! 😢
The bridge was built in the 1960s. There weren’t many people trekking by bicycle then. Even if there were, it probably wouldn’t have been approved. Breakdown lanes, which could double as bike lanes, are useful, but the bridge doesn’t have those either.
Thank you for reminding me of a great motorcycle alternative road leaving Walport for South Beach. I am taking a ride Saturday September 23 to Alsea and back on Hwy 34. Thank you again for this alternative road. Question? The road to Toledo is not paved?
Sorry for late response I have been busy with my kids first week in school. To Toledo is not paved if you take bever creek.
If you are feeling adventerous you can take this way to Toledo th-cam.com/video/SNq3uDe-BLE/w-d-xo.html
this way is a dirt road but not bad at all and very remote and beautiful with some great veiws and comes out at the same spot as beaver creek.
Do ther still do the Astoria parade not
I never knew of a parade. I only go there once a year.
It will be ghost town
You think so?
Nailing, screwing, or stapling anything to your tree pierces the cambium of the tree. The cambium is a very thin layer of growing tissue that produces new cells that become either xylem, phloem or more cambium. Injuring this part of the tree can disrupt water and nutrient flow between the roots and canopy.
I would have liked an explanation of what we’re seeing. I wasn’t interested in seeing so much traffic, hard scapes, parking lots and gas stations. Are there interesting shops and trails? Primarily you showed us shops without showing or explaining what they are. I liked that you took us with you on a walk.
I do make ones like that. I just do this type as well because it is all about the sights and sounds.
Loved watching your wonderful video, mary!.thank you for sharing it. So good!
I grew up coming to the "Big Stump" and playing in it with my brother in the 50s and 60s. It was about 10 feet taller than it is today, because "Arsonist" set it on fire a couple of different times in the 70s or 80s. We were able to get inside of it by climbing through the large slit on the east side of the stump. It was a lot of fun playing in it and became our "Fort" when the waves washed around it. Up the beach a little was a group of small log cabins that were called "The Big Stump Cabins" and we stayed there many times until they closed in the late 50s, I think. After that, we stayed mostly at the "Edgewater Cottages" just up the beach from the stump. It was great growing up coming from Eugene to Waldport and staying here, beach combing, listening to the waves, and watching the beautiful sunsets.
what a beautiful little park off the highway and amazing to see these unique flowering plants thriving here on the coast 😃thank you for taking us in there for a look!
Yes they are very weird looking plants. When I told Josh they eat meat he thought I was talking about us lol ha.
I love this place!
good morning 😄this was very relaxing and sunset was gorgeous sight to behold. you and your family are very blessed to live in this beautiful area and many thanks for sharing this with us 💯👏have a wonderful day!
I wish I could get it at night for you guys. It is so amazing at night esp now with the glowy things in the water.
Great video. Keep up the amazing work.
Thank you sooo much
Good morning sir 😀 I am from the seattle area and found your channel during the pandemic and have very much enjoyed your videos hiking, driving and seeing all the beauty the oregon coast has to offer. See you on the next adventure!
Thank you so much and yes Josh loves exploring and is always with even on the quite videos.
