It's completely unnecessary for him to be on that side of the fence, backed up to it with limited room to move, wearing white gloves and yapping away to an audience behind him.... He could easily have been on the opposite side of the fence feeding the Alligators with a pair of grippers without taking unnecessary risks.... If that Alligator managed to death roll then everyone present including himself would be watching the Alligator eat his hand right in front of his face.... Stupid idea... no point whatsoever and by trying to be clever he landed himself in a position where the people he was trying to educate ended up having to save him from losing his hand... Lucky escape from a position he had no reason to be in whatsoever...

More often than not, every such attacks begin with the person hitting the animal on the snout. Same happened with Lion before and journalist, who nervously tapped the Lion on his mouth for no reason to the Lion excpt he took it as a challenge to fight. So that was like a car rolling on top of his hand and just staying parked there. Damn. I was worried some of the crowd helping him would end up getting attacked too and it would just be a big massive feeding frenzy. The handler is lucky he had people around to help him.
