Thanks, you’re very welcome. The Augustinus Bader website states that the balm can be used alone as a complete cleanser; so I wanted to test it as such. I usually always double cleanse as you advise with a balm followed by a foaming cleanser. I do find many other more affordable cleansing balms remove much more makeup than this one on the first pass though so definitely don’t recommend it 👎🏻

I would typically double cleanse with an oil or a balm first then second cleanse with a gel if wearing makeup and or spf.

Thanks; this has now actually gone in the bin!! I much prefer having something soft to stand on when getting out of the bath or shower. I might use one of these to dry dishes on in the kitchen in the future but definitely not in the bathroom 🛀

I learnt the messy way not to fill above the max line with anything!! We still use ours often for more than just smoothies; sauces, soups, waffle batter etc. I hope you enjoy yours too 🤞🏻

That is very surprising because their marketing photos clearly show contents well above that line, though yeah, marketing is marketing. However, I also see filling above that line in many TH-cam reviews also. What kind of "mess" do you mean? I appreciate that you need air space (for mixing/turning over contents), so packing contents tightly wouldn't be good.

@@ChrisM541 I had really over filled it to be honest!! I think it was an air vacuum situation because the jug got stuck on top of the base unit. I was eventually able to get it off - with very messy results!!

In my opinion the bamboo is softer. It absolutely does not feel like plastic; it feels like butter 🧈

@@microsoft1665 I would say satin is softer still. Satin can be made from a variety of different fabrics which will impact user experience depending on what the satin is made from.

@@microsoft1665 Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I would say satin is the softest of Egyptian cotton, bamboo and satin. Satin was traditionally made from silk but today is made from a variety of different fibres. A satin made from polyester for example may not be as pleasant to sleep in as silk satin because polyester is an oil based, non-breathable fabric.

Yeah, they seem to be focusing on introducing new fragrances rather than bringing back some of the older ones at the moment.

Hi Chris, I would still recommend this cream today. It is particularly good for winter as it is deeply moisturising. Honestly, I don’t think you can go wrong with anything from Beauty Pie. Awesome, thank you for the quick response@@MakeEveryDayLuxe. I did get the Super Retinol Ceramide-boost Anti-aging Face Serum, but like a newbie, I thought I could put it around my eyes. I'm nursing a retinol burn, ha ha. I did get the super retinol eye cream, so I will use that around my eyes instead after I give myself sufficient time to heal. Just Aquaphor around the eyes for now. I'm new to serums as well, I am trying the Superdrops Brightening Niacinamide. Do you have any videos, or know of any good videos for someone new to skincare looking to find out a skincare regimen? I have quite a few products I want to try but don't have a plan. I want to avoid more mishaps if possible. Thanks again!

@@MakeEveryDayLuxe, that's interesting that you were able to use the retinol serum around your eyes. Perhaps I just need time to adjust with a lower dose once I heal. I have never reacted to anything on my skin, but then again, I've never tried many products.

@@chrisbemis3465 My skin is pretty robust and can handle most things I throw at it!! The advice with retinol is always to start slow and build up frequency of use. As you mentioned before; I’m sure using a product specifically formulated for the eye are will be beneficial too :)

@@carrotlyn Yes, I’ve loved all the scents of all Beauty Pie fragrances I’ve tried but feel like they perform more like eau de toilettes than eau de parfums in my experience

Honestly the price is too eye watering for me; I ended up repurchasing the Augustinus Bader cream for my TFC8. Although that price is still pretty eye watering too!!

It did great. I just wanted a chocolate shake using my protein powder and collagen with almond milk and it came out so good! I should have put some crushed ice in it. Very frothy! Next I will try a kale and berry smoothie! 😄

Definitely the Beauty Pie for most hydrating. I don’t feel that water alone is enough for the Eve Lom to rinse fully clean. I would always use a textured cloth with this one for full removal. Since recording the video I have discovered the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm which is my holy grail in this category and doesn’t need a cloth to rinse clean. See me use it here: m.th-cam.com/video/ArPa5QNeWKw/w-d-xo.html For me the only downside of the Elemis cleansing balm is the eye watering price tag!! In terms of more affordable, clean rinsing, cleansing balms I can recommend The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Makeup Cleansing Butter which I use here: m.th-cam.com/video/E6OZKoVmtNU/w-d-xo.html and the E.L.F. Holy Hydration! Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm which I use here: m.th-cam.com/video/HUfCh0V7hcY/w-d-xo.html These more affordable options aren’t quite as thorough as the Elemis and struggle to remove non-tubing mascaras. This isn’t a huge problem for me as I always double cleanse if wearing makeup or SPF and typically wear a tubing mascara (which only needs water for removal). Happy cleansing!!

That seems to be the consensus. I think Waitrose bakery is great but it is literally double the price of Lidl!!!

I am trying to find an alternative to La Prairie; their products are good, but they're not a luxury car payment for one single item kind of good. The entire line is equivalent to a monthly luxury car and luxury home mortgage payment. Either they've become greedy or they're intentionally trying to only have a multimillionaire or billionaire customer base, which is only approximately 1% of the population in this country. I'm waiting on an order I placed for Augustinus Bader body cream and body oil with the hope of replacing La Mer body cream, which is now up to $315 US, another car payment, and for an Estee Lauder company, that's a bit extreme. When I first started using La Mer body cream, it was more affordable at $175 US, which included a little spatula. They've even taken that away. So thank you so much for the links. I'm really hoping Augustinas Bader will be a game changer 🤞🏻

@@switchtotem4444 In my opinion the Augustinus Face Moisturiser is far superior to the La Mer. I’ve never tried La Mer body products but I’m hoping that the same principle holds for you!! Please come back and let me know how they compare. I will say that I do enjoy fragrance in my skincare as part of the sensorial experience so La Mer has the edge for me in that respect. I do understand though that fragrance is not needed for efficacy and can sensitise skin in the long term; so I understand why it is omitted from the Augustinus Bader line.

I like this one but would have to give my perfect Easter candle to Chocolate Eggs from Yankee. I love gourmand and fresh clean scents. Fluffy Pillow sounds lovely. I wish we had access to all the varieties you get in the US over here in the UK!!
