I fixed two toothbrushes with this technique. Thank you for the video. My first attempt was with an older toothbrush base. I misunderstood and went for the closer white brackets, removing the inside piece at the bottom, severing a small ribbon cable that seemed to be previously soldered to a board just above. I got it all back together and it works fine, but I don’t know what that ribbon cable was for. It charges and works fine. With the newer base, I was more careful and knew what brackets to go for. After reassembly, I was able to get all glue off by prying with a small screwdriver. The newer base was too smooth for the glue, so I used a nail file to slightly roughen the edges of the bottom, so the glue would stick.

Thank you for this video! Saved me $150! A lot of people write that the screw keeps coming loose even after repair. To fix this, dip the tip of the screw into the heated hot glue and then place it back. It will be kinda sealed. Also, not necessarily to buy a gun for the hot glue to open the bottom of the case, just heat the stick with a lighter.

Everything about the design lends itself to having a removable tailcap and swappable battery like a decent flashlight, but Phillips is all "nah...gotta save that three-fiddy in manufacturing costs; cast the handle in one piece and make it so obnoxious to service that 99% of users throw it out when it dies". We're all doing our part to kill the planet, but big companies have made speedrunning it for maximum profits into an artform :\

For fucks sake they could have easily made it replaceable via a front opening.

don't replace the battery - if it's dead, and you have the know how, charge it in place (without removing the board!!! as that is a tricky mofo to get the potentiometer back in place as you have to desolder it and press the board on to it in place)

In brand new device, battery does not last 10 minutes....such a disappointed in panasonic. Also in my hair trimmer, same thing. Panasonic today really sucks with battery life.

If I may suggest for next video you make the motion slower and you may make close up of the details. Music was too annoying. I have a question if you may answer me. Could I replace NIMH battery with lithium? I will appreciate your comments on this.

It only turns a bit....you can push it a bit firmly from the other end to slightly push the bottom out. Be careful, though you dont crack anything ....
