Neurosis - Locust Star (Brooklyn - Jan 19, 2013)
Locust Star was the last song Neurosis performed at their show in Brooklyn on January 19, 2013. This was their first show in Brooklen since 2008. I flew to NYC to see them from Louisiana. I sat in the balcony of the Brooklyn Masonic Temple an video taped the performance.

Tuba Piece No. 1 for Tuba and Live Electronics - Andy Larson

This is my first original composition. The electronics are programmed in Max/MSP and stem from a variety of processes that I strung together to create the various responses you hear from my playing.

Dance of the Goblins - Antonio Bazzini (tuba version)
มุมมอง 11K13 ปีที่แล้ว
Andy Larson - Tuba Willis Delony - Piano I performed this arrangement of Antonio Bazzini's Dance of the Goblins at my final required DMA recital at LSU. I am fortunate to have had the assistance of Dr. Willis Delony on piano. The arrangement is Dr. Benjamin Pierce's arrangement for euphonium down a fourth.
Henri Lazarof - Cadence VI

This piece requires the performer to record a second part of the score which is then played back during a live performance and performed over by the live player. It is one of the few pieces for tuba in which the performer gets to play a duet with themselves!
Steve Reich - Pendulum Music

This performance is from a recital which fulfills a requirement for my DMA minor area: Experimental Music and Digital Media. The lights used in this performance are from my extensive stable of bicycle head and tail lights. More information on LSU EM/DM program can be found at: emdm.music.lsu.edu
Pero que pulmones y que arte
As a trumpet player I love the tuba ,but this just sounds like inaudible garbage.Maybe if he did it on a Euphonium instead of a Tuba it would have been better sounding.
Amazing!!
Sheet music?
Is that Melton 2250 or 45 SLP?
This is a great piece, and a clear and commanding performance thereof. Thanks for sharing--and inspiring!: I've been meaning to add a sonata to my oeuvre. . . .
Until now, I never seriously thought of the tuba as a solo instrument but you have taken performance of this instrument to an entirely new level in artistry - perhaps even beyond the "old masters" Arnold Jacobs and Roger Bobo, both fine musicians to be sure!
Thanks, JJRaff! Those are very kind words. I appreciate them a great deal!
Where can I get notes for this piece it's amazing!
wow.. my dream
Incredible job! Thank you for that!
Thanks, David! It was a lot of fun to prepare and even more fun to perform! I'll be performing it again in Octuba 17th, 2013 at my faculty solo recital at the University of Akron.
wow!
Hi Cody- thanks for the compliments! The risk on that recital happened on the first half. Songs of Ascent took just about all of my risk taking quota for one night. :-) that and Dance of the Goblins. The Cheetham I decided to play a little safe on purpose.

Thanks! Who are you? Your handle narrows it down a bit, but not enough.
i think that raiders jersey is the only shirt scott kelly has ever owned... maybe a flannel at some point.
Andy, It's incredible to see how far you have progressed! OASAASLLS!
On this mvt. a very fine job, I love this composition, My dear departed friend Harvey Phillips played some of it for me, back in 1990 or so an a BBb, just to show me it could be done. As you might know he played most everything on a Conn CC.but did play BBb on occasion. Any way great job. Rex Sagle Houston,TX.
@semarcus1 Thank you for the compliments! The degree isn't done yet... General Exams need to be taken and a document written, but the end is certainly in sight. Thanks again!
Nicely done!
