I had a mockingbird attacking me. One day I was so fed up and I was able to hit it with a tennis racket into the wall. It was still alive but hurt. I put my hand around it’s throat and watched the light fade from its eyes. I was so hard in the pants at taking it’s life and leaving it’s children orphans.

I remember my girlfriend's cat getting harassed by a mockingbird. The bird was swooping at the cat. He swooped one time and didn't see the short bush beside the cat. The bird hit the bush and the cat pounced and killed the bird.

There is a reason they're called "mocking"..

Upon reading the description the bird must have been needlessly guarding/protecting her babies from the cat.

This once happened to me when I was waiting outside for the bus to school. Turns out the birds made a nest inside my fireplace.

This used to happen to the indoor/outdoor kitty I grew up with. I’d see it happen to her in our front yard. The mockingbirds dive-bombed her, they weren’t afraid to practically land on her. They’d pull or pluck her tail as she walked. She might have climbed trees and raided their nests, I don’t know. Back in the ‘60’s and 70’s the neighborhood was real nice, she had a pretty safe life but these days I wouldn’t let a cat roam.

There are baby birds on the ground probably. That's why they are doing that.

When I was young, we had a half-Siamese gray cat who was very smart and brave. We all loved that spunky girl. In the spring, when the mockingbird was trying to “dive bomb” her, as we used to say, she would lie in her back, with her twenty claws facing the air above, as if to say, “you want a piece of me?” After a couple tangles with her, the bird soon found other occupation, and left our dear kitty alone!

Mockingbirds get aggressive when their chicks are about to leave the nest. They will swoop down on people too.

I had a female tabby that would sunbathe on the roof of my car and mockingbirds would regularly dive bomb her. There were trees along the driveway and they would fly back and forth and harass her. She actually seemed to like it. She would flail at them half heartedly and then go back to sunning herself. Wish I had taken video of it, it was pretty entertaining.

One day my cat came home with a little hole drilled in her skull, just the size of the tip of a bird's beak. She was okay (we put her on antibiotics), but freaked out. She wouldn't come out of the closet for 2 days.

Just walk out and stand next to Kitty!!! That will spare her from the attacks! (Only if you're extremely close to a Mockingbird's nest do they normally attack a human!!) we had a Carin Terrier (same colors as Toto from J. Garland's Wizard of Oz) who used to chase after Mocking birds for a shot while. A few weeks later, whenever we let him outside, he would hid under the patio furniture... Early fall I had to climb up into our big maple tree to cut off a limb that had partially broken during a storm. I found out why Reggie was hiding! There was a bird's nest in the tree that was lined with silver and gray fur!!!

The Best Companion Bird for us is this mocking Bird, i have earned their trust, 8 years maybe more, THEY WILL KEEP SAFE the area they are in of predators, even Eagles, i have witnessed these things, This Bird is a Raptor

When I was little we had a cat that was a bobcat hybrid. He was extremely territorial, viciously attacking any male cat or dog that wandered the area. (big dogs too) There was a mocking bird that would taunt him from the roof of our house, even meowing at him. He'd circle the house angrily for a good hour before the bird would decide he was done and fly away.

My cat of many years ago was always bullied by mocking birds. One day, I was watching her basking on the lawn in the sun, and this bird kept diving on her, but not to close. The cat continued to ignore the bird, her eyes closed and just relaxing. Back and forth, back and forth went the bird. All of a sudden, the bird dipped a little to low, and my cat put the chomp on it. She took her kill proudly into the back yard some where. The birds continued to bully her, but they never got too close.

Bird would never do that to my cat if it did it would be the last time. 😼

A blue jay was doing this to my tom cat one day. I didn't see it happen but later on found the remains of the blue jay all over the living room floor! Feathers everywhere! Female cats may be intimidated but tom cats will take that feathered nuisance and do it in!
