I've been to the New Mexico museum of natural history and science before and it is awesome just walking around and checking in out. The new mexico ice age room was my favorite. And I really blend in at the gift shop. Nice video. 👍👍👍

Thanks for the video. I live in Decatur, but never had the chance to visit the museum. It is, sadly, now gone along with its owner.

My husband and I took 2 yrs to tour America. He loved the Indian nation and we spent a lot of time out west. In 1996 Sky City was different. The bldgs in the beginning of this video are new to me. And there was no Cultural Building. And photos were forbidden with a tape obviously ripped from a camera and stapled to the warning sign when you paid to get in. The price has gone up, too. The grandchildren of those that lived on the mesa at one time were congregated at the base of the mesa and you could purchase their wares after you took the bus trip up the mesa. We bought two items and I still have one. It is a "seed pot" done in adobe and black. The description on the bottom says "Deer & Mountain Sheep. w/rain, clouds (word I can't make out) bird design. Darrell & Donna Chino, Acoma & Santa Clara 1996 NM". Darrell had just discovered he could etch figures on each side in the black area. He is a true artist. His wife makes the object and he etches on it. I think we paid $125 for it. Such good memories. So many beautiful crafts taught to the grandchildren by their elders. What a beautiful tribe.

Now this will be the only way to remember. .
