I like how in the ova, despite of mounstrous look of Cream, he sounds more like a ghost than a monster growling, like in the anime.

happy 30th anniversary street fighter 2:the animated movie!!! :3 wish the ending had been sagat showing up challenging ryu to a rematch with how it'd bookend being in a roadside field but love the context of m. bison after ryu/ken whooping him after withstanding his psycho power and as a fighter & shadaloo getting nuked to oblivion just deciding to use a truck as a last resort that could see ryu defeating with how he handled it preety well alongside kicking through a car earlier with no issue.

1997's ost is so magnificient. It's very simple and there are very few tracks yet I can't think of any other osts, that like Earth, Gats, Behelit, encapsulate the entire feel, struggle and theme of the show so perfectly. Even if they ever make a modern worthy adaptation of Berserk I doubt they'll be able to recreate such a memorable and fitting ost like this one.

I only really like the Berserk Golden age arc. I don't care much for the rest of the story. That's why I love the 1997 anime. There's just something special that it captures unlike any other story in any other medium. I kind of wish I could see an alternate Berserk that followed a completely different path than the one we got. One where Griffith was a good man instead of a weak one, where he let Guts go without shame, lament, or bitterness. And one in which evil gods and their predestination of fate was far less powerful. The overall story of Berserk is much like many others. But the golden age arc, specifically the 1997 anime, is truly special.

I know the anime is lauded as the best version and rightly so, but the OVA stands up well against it, and there are moments where it even outshines the anime. I still find DIO's testing Star Platinum's capabilities far more terrifyingly effective in the OVA, it's both simplistic (they literally just cut him from the scene with no frames for movement) yet chilling when Jotaro is desperately swinging around trying to keep track of DIO's psuedo-teleports, DIO calmly analyzing Jotaro's reactions and narrowing down the limit of what he can do while Jotaro can't act because DIO's keeping well out of his range.

OVA版の雰囲気をもっと取り入れても良かったよねと思う。
