i really like the syncopation. It makes it sounds like a hiphop beat, like i could rap over this. a lot of versions of this song on the internet arent this nice, you did well
The water is wide, I cannot cross o'er, And neither have I the wings to fly. Build me a boat that can carry two And both shall row, my true love and I. A ship there is and she sails the sea She's laden deep, as deep can be. But not so deep as the love I'm in, And I know not if I sink or swim. I leaned my back against a young oak, Thinking he were a trusty tree. But first it bended and then he broke, Thus did my love prove false to me. O love is handsome and love is fine, Bright as a jewel when first it's new But love grows old and waxes cold, And fades away like the morning dew, And fades away like the morning dew.
Love in thy youth fair maid be wise Old time will make thee cold- er And though each morn-ing New a rise Yet we each day grow old- we thou as heav- en art fair and young, thine eyes like twin stars shin- ing but Ere an- oth-we day be sprung all these will be De-clin-ing then win- tee comes with all His fears and all the sweets shall bor- row, too late then wilt thou show- er thy tears and I too late shall sor-row, Too late shall sor-row
Here are the lyrics: When I close my eyes then I can see When I close my eyes I'm alive When I close my eyes then I can see And I am not afraid When I try to see the reasons why If I ever could understand When I find the hope to let me try And I am not afraid Take me to the river Take me to the sea Climb the highest mountain And go there with me When I close my eyes then I can see And I am no afraid Now I am learning Ahe magic within me And that is the reason I'm standing so tall Deep in my heart is a voice that is speaking If I keep believing then I will not fall Take me to the river Take me to the sea Climb the highest mountain And go there with me Take me where the wind blows Take me to the sun Take me to a river that flows to the sea When I try to see the reasons why If I ever could understand I would find the hope to let me try And I am not afraid And I am not afraid
I learned this in music class last year and we re learned it today this was my favorite lesson last year the one that included the Old carrion crow and it’s still my favorite music lesson we’ve done
What a beautiful performance! Lovely tone from this choir and fine two-part singing! I'm going to use it as an excellent example of this piece to teach my Junior Choir, who is rehearsing on Zoom. Thank you for singing so beautifully and thank you for posting it so we can all enjoy it!
Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling From glen to glen, and down the mountain side. The summer's gone, and all the roses falling, It's you, it's you must go and I must bide. But come ye back when summer's in the meadow, Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow, It's I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow, Oh, Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so! But when ye come, and all the flowers are dying, If I am dead, as dead I well may be, You'll come and find the place where I am lying, And kneel and say an Ave there for me. And I shall hear, though soft you tread above me, And all my grave will warmer, sweeter be, For you will bend and tell me that you love me, And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me!
She's like the swallow that flies so high She's like the river that never runs dry She's like the sunshine on the lee shore She loves her love and love is no more â??Tis out in the meadow this fair maid did go Picking the lovely primrose The more she plucked the more she pulled Until she's got her apron full She climbed on yonder hill above To give a rose unto her love She gave him one, she gave him three She gave her heart for company And as they sat on yonder hill His heart grew hard, so harder still He has two hearts instead of one She says, young man what have you done How foolish, foolish you must be To think I loved no one but thee This world's not made for one alone I take delight in everyone
