Raising Koi in my backyard pond
มุมมอง 7794 ปีที่แล้ว
i started raising koi last July 17,2020 frm size of 3 inches. Today is Dec 31,2020, check it out how big they grow.
Are the ones with black marks diseased?
nice grow
I have the Black ones i just keep them as pets because they are easy to take care of And the males look cool when they get Dark with the Red on their tails and fins
My water is green filled with algae and I never have to give any pellets and I give them duckweed and they grow just as fast I got ugly water but I got giant fish... And I don't have to have thousands of dollars worth of equipment that makes those fish pretty expensive a piece...🤪🤪🤪 Amortization of all that equipment is going to take you the rest of your life to pay😂
just want to know the size/ depth of the tub/pond and how may fish can you keep? nice to have like that..
Its a 1000 gal tank with 3.5 ft depth, can hold 500 fish but it defends how big & effective your biofiltration
Thanks for this information. Very good video
You welcome! Tnx for watching my videos
how often you need to backwash/wash the bio filtration?
I would say once per 2 years
Wow this looks amazing? Did you ever experience any leak from the drain plug of the 300 gallon?
So far no leak at all, if ever it leaks, i will jst change the rubber ring

the market for aquaculture in the USA is oversaturated with meandering and vague content. insights are hidden. you share your methods clearly. many people would pay you to help them troubleshoot and service their hatcheries, but, you already have everything you need in life :)

Hi ty for the video I found the water level of each tank helpful good day George
I would really appreciate it if you make a video showing what is inside your bio filter, maybe open up and take out the material layer by layer then put them back in. Since you are so successful, I think a lot of people are interested to copy your methods. Also, for such a big tank, do I need need to construct a concrete base for it to sit on? Thank you in advance!
How if electric breakout
Awesome setup. What brand of dry pellets do you feed them? I got inspired of building my own filtration system for my tilapia pond with this video.

Thank you for your explanation
Which one is best fish meat red talapia or black talapia ?
Red tilapia for me is more better, taste like ocean fish
Simple and well explained, Thank you.
How adorable these fishies are :)
The fish tank and the other filter canisters have to be on the same level on the ground?
The way i designed mine is like a ladder, frm fishtank to sump they’re in descending 1 inch lower each canister going down , so water will flow by gravity.
@@BackyardHobby Thank you 🙏. That clears my doubts.
I’m definitely feeling this..growing and harvesting my own food is truly a blessing from the MOST HIGH GOD..
hallo im come from indonesia, some farmer said tilapia who grow on saltwater have a taste like a sea fish?is that true?
In my experience, tilapia grow in a clean water that has good effective filtration will taste like sea fish, tilapia grow in algae water will taste algae, mud water will taste like soil.
