Converted a VW Crafter purchased for 50K AUD fitted out over 12 months for $45K used a lot of ikea flat pack, has a tow bar pull a custom inclosed trailer with BBQ and food prep section but when folded away can store two BMW 310 GS motorcycles, the van has business logos and relevant parking rights so we can use loading zones, I do counselling and life coaching, ride for therapy and cook basic food as part of workshops. We use Anytime fitness as a place to shower and gym we don’t have a bathroom or shower in the VW, this saved us a lot of money. A lot of the places we go to is paid work and part of that allows us to say on grounds rent free most of the time, we also prefer to stay on hobby farms in a vacant paddock for $20 AUD we went with a VW utility van because we are able to adjust and essentially evolve an RV is set and not easy to mod or renovate, to clarify we upgraded the towbar a few times to increase the weight and the breaks, we have an office area, and we have some interchangeable internals we can switch out.

Works out to be $150 a day AUD per person, food shopping is expensive I live alone in an apartment, the days of bulk shopping are gone, most fruit and veg don’t last longer then a week, unless you get it direct from hobby farms. The problem with RV they stand out I have a Regular VW Crafter long wheelbase it has my business name on the side, I also make coffee and food coffee counselling, I have all the right tags and stuff so I can park in loading bays if I get approval from the area, most places are ok, generally if I am giving a workshop that even have somewhere. I have a generator and solar panels, I take a trailer that has a BBQ and the motorcycles, mate good work on the blog

You can purchase tablets to put in the tanks but they should have given you a book it would have said don’t drink the water.

Great itinerary and summary. My personal highlight of my experience of Vietnam was the Ha Giang Loop. For those seeking a bit more adventure and/or are confident on a motorbike, avoid the group tours and do the loop anticlockwise to avoid the hoards of gap year students and easy riders. The best way to soak up the beauty of the Vietnamese countryside.

Great to see you guys back in Vietnam and covering new content. I just visited Ocean Park, i personally found it souless and really odd. Hardly anyone lives there and there's no atmosphere. If you need some western shops, then perhaps go to the shopping mall. If youre on a tight schedule in Vietnam, I'd suggest sticking to old town as its much more cultural and interesting, definitely not worth the 40 minute grab each way.
