We literally tell that to Faralda when first arriving at the College (the dialog option is available during Elder Knowledge quest). Sucks that the College is not interested in our powers at all while logically they should have a large educational purpose on us

Wish Elder-scrolls kept levitation magic as castables
I would’ve been satisfied with potions or a staff enchantment, honestly. I can get why it’s not in THIS game in particular bc of dragons and the potential for Bethesda things to happen there.
I never thought about it being because of dragons, I thought it was about most cities being enclosed. With levitation you could just fly over the walls, but the zone wouldn't load properly that way. @@Tibbles97
His skeleton should being able to resurrected but they dsnt think about it. + yes soul , why not to summon souls like summoning ghosts ? ahhh + Ebony warrior can’t being returned into thrall/undead
I like to think of it as the Dragonborn only being capable of limited conjuration because they’re Dragonborn and not a mage with any aptitude or longevity in studies with magic. So, they can resurrect a couple things or summon a couple strong Daedra, but nothing beyond that for another in-game decade or two. (Or mods lol)
Don't think I'll forget just assuming that the levitation would autoactivate if I walked off. It seemed like a no-brainer.
I was actually trying to use the door and caught the levitation instead. I just thought the whole sign thing would be pretty funny because of slip ups like this.

@@Tibbles97 I downloaded some mods and started playing it again the other day. It's definitely more fun than Skyrim to me. I love how charmingly weird it is. Daggerfall is still fun too.

I don't think you got his soul but the dragon souls he had.
I got both somehow. I double checked my black soul gem count after I had to reload. So, Hermaeus Mora didn’t get him after all
