We will be heading to Elizabeth city next week for one night. We stop there to break up the trip to OBX get up and eat breakfast at the Circle 2 restaurant, stop at the Grand farm market for fruit and veggies for the week at the beach. We get to OBX before l lunch and no sitting in the bridge traffic. If you get to eat in Elizabeth city try Montero’s. Very good food.

Wawa is nothing special. It was when they were a small store I Pa, but sandwiches are awful now.

I think next year we'll be getting back to the banks! We haven't visited since October of 2020. Prices there went through the roof post pandemic, just wasn't affordable.

Took another wonderful ride with you, Drew! You give me a lot of reasons to smile , reminisce, and shed some tears. I miss the OBX so much. I went there all my life off and on but for 20 years straight, visits were 7 weeks during May thru September! When you went to Bonnett Street that was where we stayed all those years. I was bawling! All those memories just flooded me. I enjoy those Carolina back roads. I was glad to see Elizabeth City, also. The pronunciation is ab a lone not loney. Named after the stone. I wear a lot of jewelry in summer. I said loney too, until a gift shop owner corrected me!

In our family the motto is "keep it shiney". Bald headedness runs in our line, you'd fit right in with our family. You'd be a treasured member too, bringing folks the ocean as you do, grateful. I miss those waters.
