Been a way a few times this year and recorded none of it (New York, Geneva, & Cyprus), so this is more for my own future self. But thought it'd stick on here.
2nd Visit to Cyprus this year, with another planned later for Christmas. Tempted to move my businesses here alongside forex trading, It would make for a better quality of life. Something I'll always be thankful for is the ability to have location freedom, Forex is a big part of that.

Should you be a funded trader? FTMO or Alpha or another prop firm? I don't believe it's necessary, especially for people new to trading. SVR got Best exhasut Acoustics
I FULLY agree with regards to the selection sequence. DRIVES ME NUTS! I just select dynamic on the screen. It's easier.
I I hear you on the order of the drive modes but I do like the eco setting for long trips just to maximize mpg. Aesthetics/sound/performance are my favorites. The auto stop/start that has to be disabled EACH time you drive the car is my absolute most annoying feature.
Yeah I forgot about the auto stop/start - incredibly annoying! Glad to see someone else feel the drive modes are in the incorrect order too 😅
My 2020 SVR averages about 14-15 mpg going around town. Best highway mileage on a recent 1000 mile trip is 20mpg. No way getting better than that. Are you referring to KPG?
MPG mate, I've been getting around 17-18mpg consistently. On long drives +1 hour, I've had 26mpg at the best (70mph cruise control in eco). "Spirited drives" and it tends to hit 9-10mpg. I will say, since I had exhaust mod I've seen slightly better mpg - I'm not sure if this is placebo memory though. For reference, I'm also using 99 Octane fuel. Will do a 1+ year review next week, and will show everything 🙂
Thanks for sharing Jay and your honesty about how much it costs to run this car. It's a monster! My neighbour has one, and I always enjoy the sound it makes when he leaves the house.
Yeah, the noise is something special!
🔥Great month of trades!
❤
Apologies for the sound, I'll sort a mic out. Also, 259 mile was the final readout with 1.5% remaining (if I didn't charge). I did not drive in "chill mode" and I definitely didn't max the range by turning aircon off etc. I'm happy with the range, I'd probably guess I've lost 10-20 mile or so in the 3 years and almost 40k miles I've done. Not bad at all! I will add, this was a warmish day for the UK - 18 degree's C (🤣), I suspect 200 mile range in winter.
260 mile is still pretty impressive after 3 years 🔋
Try Esure flex mate, they seem to be happy to take the risk on insuring the svr’s
Cheers mate, managed to beg with Admiral in the end. was still expensive though 🥲
@@JayLScho I feel you pain bud 😣
What exhaust mod is this?
@@ianmoncaster7860 centre resonator delete mate, worth doing!
@@JayLScho how do you go about getting this done?
@@chrisbaxter8120 If you’re UK based I went Keltec Performance only cost £170. In general though they remove the center resonator and replace with straight pipes. I believe this is the same mod Urban do, just for a lot cheaper!
@@JayLScho awesome, thank you!

£1000 deposit and 8 month to save £1000?
If it’s gonna take you that long, it’s probably not the car for you
@JayLScho I'm asking is that what you said? I thought you said you put £1000 down then £1000 a month? No baloon ?
@@DaleSteel Apologies mate, I misunderstood. £1,000 down and £1000 per month yeah. I got a fairly decent interest rate (7.9%), before everything went crazy. But, the balloon payment is circa 60k. I won’t be keeping this though, I’ll swap it out within the next 12 months, so I’ll never pay that balloon payment. (I get bored too fast 🤣) At current prices, I can currently sell this and pay the finance off. If you’re looking for one, they’re incredibly cheap at the moment due to all the thefts!
@JayLScho oh so of you hand it back in 12 month you won't have to pay anything extra? I'm looking at 4.4 tdv8 as a tow car as I'm car tradee
@@DaleSteel That completely depends on the cars depreciation rate, but technically with this SVR and the deal I got. I can do that today after 10 months of ownership. (Naturally I have spent money on a car to give back though, but I’m fine with this). For a 4.4tdvi, you’d have to check the value of the car you’re buying then look at the price of one say a year older with more miles to work out the rough depreciation. But typically regardless, you never have to a pay a balloon payment back at the end of the finance if you do not want the car. You can just hand it back and walk away.
So I think you’re misunderstanding dynamic mode. It’s not instant because it’s for planned spirited driving. For instant response which is what you seem to want, you just push the shifter over to sport mode. And that’s instant. JLR made no mistakes there. In addition the brake pedal is right where it should be I have this car 2018 and if the pedal were higher it clutters and slows spirited driving. Otherwise good video.
Maybe I wasn't clear in the video. It's not just the response, which btw is only gearbox - that does nothing for the throttle mapping. If I wanted a quick gear shift I'd use the paddles. It's having the ability to get the car to firm up the suspension, steering and throttle with a simple click, I've had this in M Cars. I just feel like it's a bit of a design flaw not having this as a one click switch - which they have changed on the new SV, by putting a button on the steering wheel. They've put a physical auto terrain button, then give a screen, but you can't click any modes on the screen with this auto terrain button down. Seems a bit odd to me and I can't figure out the reasoning. Brake pedal, it's just a personal positioning thing again not got this on my other cars - I always catch my feet on this pedal but perhaps it's just my feet/driving position in this car 🤣 Ultimately though, I was clutching at straws trying to come up with negatives because the car is fantastic. Glad you enjoyed though 👍
@@JayLScho If you get tuned staged one, it will be light years better in terms of response. In order to get a 'one click' to dynamic mode, set your lower screen to whatever 'car controls' is called so that shows all your available modes each time you get in. Now you have a one-step to dynamic mode, its not fancy like the SV or M cars but it does the job. IMO I wouldn't drive around in Auto its kinda dull and boring compared to even Comfort since its always thinking you are off-road or getting ready for different terrains.
@@DrivenHard Yeah, just wish it had a physical dynamic button on the steering wheel like the new SV does. Will look into the stage 1!
What did you changed?
Centre silencer resonator delete, made a huge difference!
Resonator delete with X Pipe makes the vehicle come to life on another level. I also did the VIEZU, pulley upgrades and ECU Tune . Will post soon
It looks stuck down a bank 🙈 Crazy sound tho
Thanks to theft you can pick up a 4 year old one with the carbon package for like 58-70k, i might get one this year and ship it out, prices are really coming down
Yeah you can pick them up for a steal at the moment (excuse the pun). Amazing car for the price.
@@JayLScho Yeah lol they will come down a lot more , i live in Cyprus so i have to pay 30% tax on import now Uk left eu, so the cheaper they get the better for me but law states it has to be under 5 years old. I think i will get it forst quarter 2025 i got a feeling theft will only continue to rise and insurance companies will stay away
Also deactivated the keyless entry 👍 their are lots of videos on TH-cam showing how to do this 👍
Great content! Love my SVR. Sorry for my british bretheren going through thefts and insurance issues. Jut added new Downpipes and resonator delete. Cheers from NY USA
The roaring V8 is the best part of a Range rover when you drive in tight roads nice video mate!

How much was your insurance? I can’t get a quote lower than 9k
I paid £3,000 last June. 28 yr old, 11 yr no claims. For sure it’ll go up at renewal since the recent bouts of thefts though.
What MPG are you getting?
@RobertoSanchez-rz4qv About 16/17Mpg. Mixed driving, On a long run (200miles) I’ve had 28mpg @ 70mph. Which is impressive considering it’s a 5L and shaped like a 1960’s fridge. On a spirited drive you’re talking sub 10 though.
@@JayLSchowhen i got mine it was @ 4.9 I have teased it up to 15 now so feel quite chuffed

The quicksilver exhaust will impress u if u put them on
I put foot down and for 5 seconds & lost about 35 miles on tank
you just drove past my house! awesome car mate!
Cheers mate, wow - small world!
Know these roads… believe you can change the autopilot distance 2,3 or 4 car lengths. Seen a dude do it on another vid.
You can, the problem is the 2 car distance in my opinion is a bit too far still, as it feels way more and people will merge in front. The car then slows down to create the gap again. My other car allows 1 car length which seems far more normal. It never used to be like this, they done some update and since then it’s “too safe” a bit slow to speed up if the car in front moves etc
All being well i’ll be picking up a 22 model 3 RWD this year. Been running Michelin cc2’s on my petrol car with intention to chuck a set on the m3, road conditions are the worst where i live in UK and driving at times for work leads me to unpredictable places. I wanted a good set of tyres, makes all the difference. Be interested to know what urs are like in wintery conditions (-0/snow) premicy/pilot i was looking at too. Noice POV video dude.
I used pilots in the snow last year in this, and it was extremely good for grip still. So far though I must say the primacy’s are performing even better in the wet than the pilots, yet to try them in snow. They are slightly louder than the acoustic pilots though
People always bash the reliability of JLR. What has your experience been like with the SVR?
Yeah there’s a good amount of horror stories and I had a engine management light appear a couple of months ago, turns out an exhaust o2 sensor had failed which is a common fault- the car didn’t go into limp though and it was replaced under warranty. Other than that, no issues at all. Can’t fault the service of JLR, but I do hope I don’t have to visit them again 🤣
My dream daily is the bmw X5m competition in marina bay blue with ultimate package & hopefully this summer that comes to reality.
Good user review Jay. I've ordered a 2024 built Model 3 LR here in Tasmania. Will be several weeks, but I'm in no hurry. Nearly bought a BYD Seal, but that car has lower ground clearance than the Tesla, so was a deal breaker for me as I don't want to scrape and damage the front bumper. I imagine your Model 3 will be even quieter on dry roads. Bit noisy because of the wet roads - as expected.
Cheers! I think you’ve made a great choice, you’ll definitely have less problems/glitches than if you had went for the BYS Seal. Yeah, in the dry it’s pretty damn quiet to be honest. British roads are terrible too. Stereo on and you’re not hearing road noise or wind at all anyway!
As much as I love my SVR. This has to be the ultimate all rounder.
just rented a 2019 Rover Sport SVR through Turo (Los Angeles). Loved it! The exhaust option where you can change the sound is a favorite! Been shopping Rover Sport (V8) for awhile now, looking for the right one (White with black accents, under 40k miles, V8, 2018 or newer). Going to be difficult now that I've driven the SVR to get anything else, simply due to the exhaust options & insane 575hp! So much FUN!
Yeah it just sounds incredible doesn't it. Like rolling thunder! Good luck with your search!
Happy New Year pal all the best for 2024 looking forward to the new content
Thank you mate, happy new year to you too. All the best 👍🏻
Can't wait for the Rover 75 review 🤣🤣 nothing like turning up in a car where your watch is more expensive than your car
Well done on your accomplishments and providing a nice review I had the older model khan 3.5 twin turbo diesel which had more than ample power however I can only imagine 5.0 lr petrol enjoy !!
Thank you!
What aftermarket security you added to this?
Ghost, GPS trackers in addition to the standard LR one, faraday key bags and security bollards
11mpg? Please, i had my 4.6hse down to 1mpg(was up to its axels in mud) but did sound nice 😊
