In the late 70’s I remember seeing these unique cabooses on the Milwaukee around Mason City, IA in regular road service. Always wondered what was going on. Can’t believe the Milwaukee was short of cabooses.

To think, that back in the Hooterville Cannonball & Shady Rest Hotel days, that branch to Pixley was about to be discontinued by Homer Bedlowe until Downing B. Jenks himself threatened to permanently re-assign Bedlow to the Pike Street Locomotive shops to clean and pump locomotive, caboose, & passenger car toilets! 🤣
