I can’t wait until Next Month in November when This Movie comes out on Paramount Plus.
So this is where Jay z got the sample from
So glad I got to see this in the big when it came out 😍
Who fucked so badly to not include the entirety of song in the movie’s soundtrack?
Kathie Green dubbed in all the songs that Oliver sang in this movie. Most people thunk it's really his voice. Google it if you don't believe me.
we’re doing this musical for my school
Ron Moody's best ever actor and in musicals. I saw this live in London in 1993 the set was the best I've seen
one of the best musicals ever.. not sure why it has not had a revival on broadway or in cinema.
I believes it's due to the controversy of Fagin being portrayed as a miserly, crooked Jew, which although accurate in Dickens' rendition, rightly leaves a sour taste in the mouths of a more liberal, modern audience
6:04 This is my favorite part
THIS SONG MAKES ME SO HAPPY!!!!!!!
Please can I have some more?
Please can I have some more

This song sometimes reminds me of the town of Cuffley.
St Paul's Cathedral Dome can be seen in the distance from their hideaway base allotment.

The grass is green & dence on the right side of the garden fence.
Rats to bring The Plauge in.
He's a really Naughty man. Worse than the kids. But he teaches them to be naughty.
Robin Hood. He who Robs from the Rich & gives to the Poor.
Young children don't get the understandings like adults do.

Sir Robert Peel (1788-1850) a Skillful Politican became Home Secretary in 1822, and carefully made police reforms without arousing the public fear of intimidation. He believed in crime prevention rather than relieving on punishment as a deterrent. In 1829 Legislation was passed by Parliament to establish the Metropolitan Police in London, a single Force for an area roughly within a circle of seven miles from the centre of London. Sir Charles Rowan & Sir Richard Mayne became the first joint Commissioners with the Headquarters in for Whitehall Place known as Scotland Yard. The Police Constables wore reinforced style top hats & navy blue swallow tailcoats & carried wooden truncheons & a rattle made of wood which they used to rasie the alarm & call for help.
Called The New Police, they also gained the nicknames of Peelers & Bobbies after Peel. Recruits to the new force in the 1830s had to be under 35 years of age, be in good health & strong & be at least 5 feet 7 inches tall. As Mr Peel wanted his force to be a really good body of men. The Bobby was to be Calm, Quiet and Determined, as well as Bold when he had to be, But above all he had to learn to keep his Temper however much he was provoked. From the beginning The London Metropolitan Force was a great success, but it took time for the public to expect the idea, and many brutal attacks were made against Policeman.
This Drama Production can be shown on UK TV Screens every Christmas Time.
Pennies, Pounds, Guineas, and Shillings. So, 19th century England had four types of currency?
12 pennies for every shilling, 20 shillings to the pound, a Guinea is slightly more than a pound, A pound was once 240 pennies (20 shillings) and a Guinea was 252 pennies, which is 21 shillings Hope this somehow helps you understand British pre-decimal currency!
You're right, the soundtrack for this film is terribly cut down, omitting verse after verse. I get in 1968 an LP had a limited run, but there's no reason they couldn't release a full version now. You shouldn't have to rip from the move to get the full song, but I'm very glad you have!
Very true about the original album omitting certain verses from some of the songs-a new fuller version including those verses, plus the missing dance music, would certainly do the film better justice. The person who constructed this upload has skillfully done this. In the case of this song, it was the verse “Pretty little Sally” followed by the continuing verse “She was from the country”. 🎠🎪
Замечательно!
Poor kids would do anything for a tramp.
New Jay-Zzzzzz
The Overture and main titles music were brilliant - I was disappointed when I finally saw the live show that it doesn't actually have an overture, just some sombre music as the workhouse is opened up. The film was an improvement over the live show in many ways, I always find the script underwritten on stage and there just as filler between songs.
This song is unironically a fucking banger, an old manipulative crook doesn’t deserve to be able to sing this well.

Anything! Even fight my bill what fisticuffs!!!

The beautiful and extremely talented actress, singer, dancer, entertainer and performer Shani Wallis sings this song the best ever and perfectly! Shani Wallis should have received the Golden Globe Award, the BAFTA Award, the Screen Actors Guild Award, and the Academy Award for best actress in a motion picture for her brilliant and excellent portrayal of Nancy in the 1968 classic movie Oliver! It should be Dame Shani Wallis! The classic 1968 movie Oliver! is one of my favorite movies of all time! I was born in the late fall of 1978. I own this 1968 movie classic Oliver! on both DVD and Blue Ray! I also own both the 1968 classic movie Oliver! original cast record album and the CD! The 1968 classic movie Oliver! was adapted from Lionel Bart's Hit London Stage Musical Play Oliver! that was adapted from Charles Dicken's novel Oliver Twist! Charles Dickens also was the author of A Tale of Two Cities, A Christmas Carol and David Copperfield! All of Charles Dickens novels are based on actual historical events and his own personal experiences! Charles Dickens was sent as child to the horrific inhumane England workhouses in 19th century England as a child! Nancy is a kind young woman of the 1880's streets of London, England! Nancy is murdered by Bill Sykes in Charles Dickens novel Oliver Twist, Lionel Bart's London Stage Musical Play and the 1968 classic movie Oliver! The characters of Nancy and Bill Sykes are not married in the novel, the London Stage Musical Play or in the 1968 Classic movie Oliver! The character of Biil Sykes is hung in the Charles Dickens novel Oliver Twist! The character of Bill Sykes is shot to death in Lional Barts' s Musical Stage Play and the 1968 classic movie Oliver! The character of Nancy pickpocketed for Fagin as a young child of 5 and is also a prostitute in the novel, the London Stage Musical Play and the 1968 classic movie Oliver! The character of Nancy is not a narcissistic criminal! The character of Bill Sykes is a narcissistic criminal as is the character of Fagin! The character of Fagin in the novel Oliver Twist is sent to prison and hung! The character of the Artful Doger is sent to prison for twenty years at hard labor for pickpocketing! Obviously @sharonmarlowe2313 is judgmental and has not read any of Charles Dicken's novels including Oliver Twist nor read the Lionel Bart's musical script or seen a production of it and didn't pay attention while viewing the 1968 classic movie Oliver! @sharonmarlowe2313 wasn't a young woman in poverty of the 1880's streets of London, England and has no right to judge! asharonmarlowe2313 comments show lack of common sense, lack of compassion, lack of empathy, lack of intelligence. and are offensive and vicious! @sharonmarlowe2313 needs to read the Charles Dicken's novel Oliver Twist, see a performance of Lionel Bart's Musical Play and watch the classic 1968 movie Oliver again and pay attention! @sharonmarlowe2313 needs to listen the musical number Oliver again! The lyrics are Oliver! Oliver! Never before has a boy wanted more. Oliver! Oliver! won't ask for more when he knows what's in store! There's along thin winding stairway without any banister. Which we'll throw him down and feed him on cockroaches served in canister! Oliver! Oliver! What will he do when he is turned black and blue!? He will rule the day somebody named him Oliver! Oliver only wanted another bowl of gruel which is nasty and the only meal those little boys in the workhouse got a day! In the novel Oliver Twist, Oliver is severely beaten and sold to the undertaker who also beats Oliver! The song Food Glorious Food is a sad song because those corrupt fat rich governors eat hot, well balanced and delicious meals like hogs at a trough while those young boys go barefoot, work like slaves all day and only get one bowl of water down gruel a day! If @sharonmarlowe2313 is fine with that then @sharonmarlow2313 doesn't have a conscience! Thank you for posting and sharing this excellent recording!
I struggled to read some of that! But from what I could read, yes I totally agree! Shani Wallis was an amazing actor and singer! She not only sung this song but put herself in the shoes of Nancy to give the most heart wrenching performance I’ve heard, In my opinion none can top this film, all of the characters and their actors were perfect for the roles they were given. No modern day Oliver movie could top this in my opinion!
dead chat
I’m so obsessed with this film, I just wish I had a chance to meet some of the actors before their unfortunate passings 😢
I think mark lester and shani Wallis are the only actors still alive! 😢😢😢
