    I'm surprised you two are behind on the info of M. Night putting out these two movies (The Watchers and Trap) in support of his two daughters, Saleka (singer) and Ishana (film maker). Though I guess I can't blame you since M. Night hasn't been doing a great job of getting people to pay attention to him these days..

    I thought it was pretty fun. Quite preposterous, but a good laugh. My main issue with the film was, and this is a bit of a personal thing, the cheap and lazy representation of OCD - something I always find frustrating in movies.

    I have watched this 3 times this year. The first, I was lucky enough to catch it in a theater. I am the same age as Adam is, came of age in the aftermath of the ‘80s/ealy ‘90s AIDS epidemic, and it made me think about how that has informed how I interact (or don’t) with other gay men and some of isolation and loneliness hardwired into me when in my formative years sex=death. I will likely watch it another 3 times. It keeps haunting me.

    I'll agree that the movie is visually beautiful. And all the praise for how the movie was shot is well-earned. But. It's still a disappointment. 2/3 of the way through the movie stops, jumps back in time and all the resolutions happen off-camera, it's so anticlimactic that I can only think that they started the movie and during filming the money ran out or something and they had to finish it as cheaply as possible.

    The show originally was to have a 3 season arc, but the popularity has stretched it out. Season 1 and 2 had satisfying arcs where the people and situations improved. Carmy is unbelievably and annoyingly stagnant especially in season 3. I think it’s a setup for season 4 to have a satisfying success and growth of the characters, hopefully by the end it finally clicks for Carmy

    George!!! You've just articulated my every thought while watching The Bear season 3, I was really disappointed. Like most of the Internet I fell inlove with the The Bear season 1 but each season seems to be letting me down😢😢 I fell inlove woth the dynamic between the characters in season 1 apart for Marcus whose whole vibe and storyline just seemed out of place in that show, and that other guy who randomly pops up to answer questions, whose name I dont even know, or why he's even there (even though there was a scene in season 3 that lets us know he used to play baseball and retired from an injury 😅) but I loved everything about the first season (of course the cursing threw me off but that's me being a Christian who does not curse and would flinch each time they did... so i was flinching every second of each episode). The second season was good as well, but of course when I go back I o ly watch "Forks", "Seven Fishes" and "Honeydew." But season 3 was just bad. I like Tina's episode but all in all I was disappointed, literally nothing happened, they kept talking about Claire but also not really talking about her, Syd keeps trying to say something the entire season but never does, Marcus's mom dies and then what? (I also felt like when they tried to sack Marcus for only making two pastries and Sugar saying she'll kill the accountant if he did that... that felt like it was directed to us who felt Marcus had bo purpose on the show.) I was disappointed and didn't want to be so I keep telling myself, atleast Tina's episode was nice

    The whole point of the character Deadpool is literally for moments like this whole film… just be glad your watching great cameos, funny jokes and good enough action to entertain you instead of the recent stuff we’ve had after Endgame. Also it’s not that deep man

      @harryscott2955 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      All the cameos were announced before the film was released The jokes were more misses than hits And the action had, for the most part, no stakes because the characters were either unkillable or had an unending supply of fodder to cut through IT’S OKAY TO EXPECT MORE FROM YOUR MEDIA

    The 90s was THE BEST decade for Hollywood film. It's not just rose-tinted glasses, the quality was far superior, creativity was rewarded, and more often than not the risks they took that paid off. Not just that, but film stock technology was at its height, so most films look amazing and timeless. The primary concern was for story and character, not outside influences and second guessing. Special effects were normally a mixture of practical and CGI, which often looked better and more real than the full CGI sequences we see today. Film stars were actual stars, they were mysterious and not all over social media and the internet, ruining their mystique. Films were also not streamable/downloadable, so owning a film felt special and rare, as it was a physical copy. It didn't feel throwawayable like streaming, where you don't value them as much. I want to go back in time. Anyway, great podcast!

    Sounds like Twisters is exactly what I thought it would be. I'm noticing a bit of a thread between "blockbuster" type movies and tv shows.. the writing is lacking. The Acolyte is a strong example of this. Issues and topics aside, the dialogue is really weak. There are many shows and movies that talk about various subjects, that have strong writing and know how to tell a story well. It feels like too many punches are being pulled, not in subject matter, but in lines of dialogue. This conversation could have been made to be so much more interesting, but instead it falls into various tropes and cliches. Just because this is a big disaster movie, doesn't mean the rest has to fall away. Just because it's a Star Wars show, doesn't mean the writing doesn't matter.

    Ok, let me explain why there was a lack of Oscar nominations for this film. First, it has to be released in L.A. and New York for one week prior to the end of the year. Check. Second, when they released it it was only in three theaters in the U.S. An art House in L.A., an art House in N.Y., AND a small art House in Dallas, Texas. They needed it released in Dallas because it is the ONLY city in all of the United States that is allowed to have it’s own Rating System. I used to be a member of the Ratings Review board. We would watch a screening of a light hearted comedy with one shot of someone being sneaked up on in a foggy, steamy shower by his wife. Nothing was shown but the chest of the man and the Review Board gave it a rating of “R” for suggested nudity. I was asked to be a member because all of the members were in their 60’s and 70’s (a couple of 80’s,) and they needed a younger person’s view point in their discussions. Well, the fact was there was only two of us younger members. There was no way we could change the blue haired women and men, unable to stand on their own volition. We were WAY out numbered. But being we had our own ratings board, they had to release it in Dallas. Also Haigh (sp?) would not release the film on dvd. Normally, each member of the Academy gets a free copy of the film so that they can watch it at home. There were no one-page ads in the trade magazines asking for nominations. These may seem silly, but the voting members cannot very well simply walk into a theater and watch a film. The press and paparazzi follow every move they make so they have little to no privacy. That’s why getting the dvd’s out and ads in the trades is so important. Haigh decided not to do this, so it was his choice to not have any nominations for his film. This is, to me, even more sad because Hollywood loves Paul Mescal and would have had new found respect for Andrew Scott. The moral to this story is simply, life is choices. Haigh made his choice. It affected everyone involved in this project and the audiences are sadder for it. On a different subject, the red headed guy in the purple shirt said, “and I have gay friends…”. I’m confused. Isn’t he gay? He’s so damned good looking I hope he is! And yes, the word queer is offensive to me. I’ve had to fight for gay rights for ions. That word brings up so many bad memories, like when I was tied to a pine tree and set on fire with everyone yelling “burn the queer!” To fight for equal rights for the younger generations to have a better life, just to have them slap us in the face by accepting that word we fought so hard against… Life is choices, I guess.

    Over hyped turd of a movie. Don't waste your time and money seeing it. Nic Cage cookie cutter in serial killer makeup. Drags harder than my dog across shag carpet. Retard picnics are better constructed. Terrifier meets Pinocchio meets the nun. Add a heaving tablespoon of Ambien gravy. All these paid shills on here saying how "great" this movie is should be ashamed. I want a refund and an apology.
