My new cat 307.5 next gen excavator finally coming home and walk around. More to come
Great machine
Still have the machine?
Well.. since he solicited comments, the guy seems to be very happy with his equipment... I would say like a little kid who got his brand new Tonka toy for Christmas.... I'm happy for the guy congrats
Great machine for servicing electric over hydraulic for controls suck the big one🤢🇨🇦
🎉 congratulations
Nice machine
How has the 307.5 been with you having it this long looking at a new one at CAT
how much price the machine. as a usd.
Diesel should know Cat coupler specs and that bucket should have been manufactured to fit your Cat machine/coupler. That’s the primary requirement for the bucket manufacturing process (the Fit) if they miss that, then ;&@:-/“&??????????
Solsebee’s builds the best thumbs/buckets available. Cat offers a front guard & top guard for protection of your machine/person.
Be careful
I had the same issue with my 301.8 next gen . Salesman said they had 400 thumbs on back order. It took 6 months
Was that a regular pickup pulling this machine?
It was an f350
Glad to see you post another video. Do you like the rotary mulcher or the drum type mulcher better?
It all depends on the size of material, how close I am to a house or a road, and the type of finished product I want. If it’s all about going as fast as I can to get as much on the ground as possible and I’m not concerned about throwing chunks disc all day. Less maintenance and a little faster at getting stuff on the ground. But for large trees or if I need it to be mulched up really fine drum mulcher for sure.
Just the fact you said any comments good or bad are welcome, shows your confidence. You sir have my subscription!
Work rental for cat, let her warm up, for head and hydraulicsake.. They rarely have problems unless it rolls. It won't, solid base but take care of the hydraulic system if you use a hammer often. Could you space the thumb to align it for the tooth it contacts? Unless it's on a QC and is throwing off geometry to the bucket. Edit words*
worked 38 years as a cat dealer field man those track hoes have changed a whole bunch and for the better that thumb is golden, good luck young man
I would be stoked to get one for my 210 komatsu. Thanks for sharing your videos and be safe.
You have been having the same problem I have with a pond job we are doing. I'm sick of the rain.
Just ordered a 307.5, I should have it by Feb. As far as the comment on machine size and the thumb. I went back and forth between a 13tonn vs a mini and went with the 307.5. I do a lot of landscaping, foundations and I do lot clearing on a small scale (1 - 2 acres) and while a bigger machine would be great for clearing they just aren't practical for the rest of what I need it for. I couldn't do my work without a thumb, it would be like cutting off an arm. Retaining walls, moving the cleared wood, stacking and burning bush it's a must have. Like the videos and thanks for taking the time to post.
I think you can always have CAT (or you can) turn the relief pressure down on the thumb so it doesn't close as hard...... though it won't be as strong then either. You've probably already gotten used to it now and don't need to change it. Can the thumb reach the cab? It looked like it got pretty close a few times! Enjoyed the video, the rambling is great when you are showing the work your doing.
No it doesn’t hit. It does look close but there’s now way it could touch the cab. Unless you’re holding a big stump lol. Found that one out the hard way
Been waiting 4 months for the thumb for my new CAT 302, and still no idea when it will come in... anyways, enjoy the 307.5
Nice rig, about a 308 without the swing boom. On the ID tag, does it say that it is assembled in USA?
No sir. It’s assembled over seas. I’m fairly certain it’s from Japan
China. Wish it was made in Japan . Just bought one . Very nice machine though
@@bjwatson9000 right, Japanese stuff is g2g.
@@bjwatson9000 china??!??! No way, ugh. Thanks for sharing.
I would not own a excavator without a thumb on it, best add on you can do if your working in the woods and clearing. Nice videos.
Thank you. I agree
There great for small jobs but there not land clearing friendly ,thumb in my opinion are just a extra rattle an hose problem , dig with it don't clear trees they get beat up pretty fast
Well imma have to respectfully disagree whit ya on that one. At least for our area a 7-10 ton machine is the best one for clearing. We have a lot of small 1-2 acre lots and septic and building pad work. And a thumb is the most versatile option on an excavator. It is a few extra grease points and hoses but the benefit far out ways the negative. However the cat thumb is the least durable design I think I’ve ever seen.
can happen to evryone but never nice to have. i had glass on the door that broke but the glass replacement isn’t the problem the problem is all the pieces of glass in your cab😅😂
the only next gen cat i use is a 323 next gen so when u said plenty of room i tought this cab looks small 😂. but looks like a nice machine
How you liking the cat 307.5 now that you had it for two months?
I’m loving it. Just did an update video on it at 200 hours
Awesome! I’ll check it out!
You hauling that with a srw? That’s full out! Lol
Hey man. Never thought I’d see you here. Love the videos. And yea I am. I know it’s a good bit but the truck handles it great.
I mint good luck
I have been told to watch getting big rocks between the tracks and under the cab when moving or swinging good 👍🏻 🍀
How much difference in price between the 307.5 and 310?
About 40k difference set up the same way.
Just curious guys . What’s the price for this machine and what kind of payment would you guess. I’m needing to buy a Excavator soon. Thanks
It really depends on your area, what brand it is and size. For this size machine they can be any where from 80-150k new
Did that on a cat 963 happens so quick at a blink of a eye.
Very nice looking machine.
I'd love to buy one but Sanys are a little more within my budget. I'm looking a a 95c 20,000 pound machine. Brand new with 5 year warranty it's 85k. But I'd die to have a cat.
We just don’t have many dealers outside of the big manufacturers that are easy to get to.
Nice! What part of GA are you in? Looked like you were going through Locust Grove there for a minute.
We were going through locust grove. It was up at the rental store when I picked it up. We’re about and 40 minutes south in Forsyth
Nice choice buddy. I've had my 310 for almost a year and can't be happier with it so far... also relieved my 306 last week... very nice machines!! Kubota isn't any close to cat for sure.. little cheaper, yes, but I'd rather pay some more and get the best. Mine both came with the big touch screen... (and I like to see the camera on all the time , which they have). Hope it serves you long years with no issues..
I originally looked at a 310 but decided being able to move the 307 on a gooseneck would suit us a little better
I have the same machine and thumb. Love the machine hate the thumb it’s garbage. I really want to upgrade it. I have bent mine a couple times and it’s bent again as I write this. Nice videos.
I agree. Really wanted a solesbee thumb bucket and coupler but it was cheaper to go with cat for now. Maybe down the road
Good luck on your channel. 👍
Thanks
Man those are nice but did you ever consider the 309 with it’s on auxiliary hydraulic pump for a Mulcher ? I love mine you can’t beat them.
I did. Really wanted a fixed boom machine. Less grease points and wear and has better swing power for clearing
I just got mine 2 weeks ago, what are you using to tow it?
An f250 with air bags in the rear with a 24000lb gooseneck trailer
@@Briceturner1 sweet, going to put a hammer on mine end of this week
im looking at a 309 which is basically this machine with a bigger engine and a heavier under carriage. I need to clear 4 acres and possibly another 20 in the spring and was thinking this machine could more than handle it. What are you thoughts so far on this especially for clearing?
It works really well for clearing. For around our area with smaller pines and smaller projects over all it’s a good fit
Sorry about the sniffing y’all. Allergies are killing me
