They are like america and insrael, they show us they are enemies but from behind close doors they are one
❤ Thanks for this video......Pretoriusskop is a FABULOUS camp.....LOVE to camp @ Pretoriusskop😊❤😊

According to the Malay Annals, this name was given by a 13th-century Sumatran Malay prince named #SangNilaUtama, who, on alighting the island after a thunderstorm, spotted an auspicious beast on shore that his chief minister identified as an #Asiaticlion. Recent studies of Singapore indicate #lions have never lived there, unlike the tiger. Therefore, the animal seen by Sang Nila Utama would more likely have been a tiger, though it would be odd for them not to recognize one.🦁 🇸🇬 The Legend Of The 🌊 #MERLION 🦁

The name comes from when they built the lake it did not fill with water as expected, so they panicked... thus they called it lake panic 😂

Thank you! 😃
Thanks for the video. I remember this camp so well back from the time I was 4 years old which is 61 years ago. My late parents first entered the Kruger in 1947 and from school in Jhb we used to visit the Kruger twice a year and stayed in those old rondavels. My brother and I could not wait to get to the pool too. I have been to the Kruger now over 40x and I do hope that I will visit again in the future. It’s a magical magical place. My late parents ashes including my husbands were scattered at the outlook point at Olifants Camp and hopefully mine will be scattered there also one day. Thanks again for the tour. Brought back wonderful memories
Aaah your response is exactly why I do these videos. Is to keep the memories alive for you, me and others. Also to share with those who only dream of visiting The Kruger National. I hope you return, but regardless, your energy and footsteps are etched in the soil of The Kruger. Bless your parents for awaking the love for nature and the privilege to explore The Kruger National. It is indeed a magical ✨️ magical place. Take care x
@@ladyandherlandy Thank you for your answer. I do hope I return. It's good to know that the Kruger is so well looked after and has not been destroyed like the rest of SA by the government. Safe journeys and stay safe

Hey thanks for sharing! - can you tell me what is the power/ load shedding situation in the camps? How long were the cuts and did the generators always work?
Hello, I'm glad you enjoyed the content. When I camped in Satara end May and now August/September in Shingwedzi and Pretoriuskop, the generators kicked in. Heard it humming in Satara and Pretoriuskop but no noise in Shingwedzi. Had power and absolutely no problem. 😊
Apologies we were on stage 3 so ran for 2 hours in the day, and depending on the time slot for the area, if the next 2 hour loadshedding timeslot was between the hours 22h00 - 5h00 they did not switch the generator on in Pretoriuskop but will switch on around 07h00 in the morning. But this created very little inconvenience, carry a torch, have a flask with boiling water to make a cup of tea, listen to the birds and before you know it the power is on again 🐾
@@ladyandherlandy Thanks - not sure what the stages are, so generators will not come on at night? Asking because we come in December, and without fans/ air con it's going to be very warm, not to say that food/ meat in the fridge would be tricky
@RG....... stages 1 to 3 is maximum 2 hours of loadshedding per day and impact low. Stages 4 to 6 ramps up to two or 3 sets of loadshedding per 24 hours and can range between 3 to 4 hours of loadshedding so off for 4 on for 6 hours. The generators in the entire Kruger National was reliable and did come on and switch over was automatic. Except in Pretoriuskop as the camp staff drove out to the generator outing the camp to switch over manually. The shops were run well and had cold items, frozen and fresh foods and ice all the time. Which camps are you visiting?
@@ladyandherlandy Croc Bridge, Malelane satellite, Satara and Skukuza over 2 weeks. Bungalow or huts. Any idea if they normally go to stage 4/5/6 in the summer?
Agh man Mariette, jy maak ons jaloers!! Wens ek het iemand om saam te ry na plekke soes hierie rustige en peaceful spots.
Kom saam volgende keer!
Where are the non electrified camp sites at Satara
Satara as a camp will have fencing around the entire camp which includes the area where the camping sites are. But each campsite is an open area so between you and your camp neighbor nothing. I hope I answered your question adequately 😊
Lekker content. Subb’d…👍🏼
Thank you so much 🫶🏼

Hello, yes there are wild animals like antelope, warthog and the like. No giraffe, Buffalo or elephant. It's advisable not to walk around in the estate at night. At the lodge itself you are safe. I hope this information assists you ❤
Hi dear, can you tell me please, wild aminals come to hotel, did you see them????? ❤❤❤❤
I LOVED everything during my Namib 100 Hike. Life changing indeed. 5 weeks prior to my walk I was nursing the last effects of acute bronchitis, so my training was delayed. The morning of my 1st day, I was unwell and thought nothing of it, but I struggled through the 1st day. After my walk, my fever was 38, and i had some infection in my body and rather unwell. The support during the next 4 days of my hike from the Live The Journey team was next level. If you can go please walk the The Namib 100. Prepare well it's a slack pack hike but requires a good level of fitness. I completed the hike with support from the LTJ team. Even though I had to recover on day 2. The rest stop I mentioned in my video was meant for me to rest and top up my water. I topped up my water but did not rest. As we set out much later on the day, our awesome guide and support team headed out to set up camp and prepare dinner. Go hike the Namib 100 it's EPIC!
