Life as Me
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 26 มิ.ย. 2016
In this channel I'll post videos of products or things that make me happy. Not to be confused with what makes me most happy, my family! Some of my favorites are journaling, packing cubes, Vera Bradley and just anything that tickles my fancy at the time.
My 2025 Hobonichi Unboxing
I love Hobonichi Day! I was so excited to get into my box that I couldn’t wait until daylight. I filmed using artificial lighting which resulted in a lot of shadows. 🤷🏽♀️ I hope you can all still enjoy my unboxing! I love everything I purchased. 😍😍😍

Goulet Pens unboxing and inking my new Sailor
Thank you for the video. I can sense your excitement receiving a custom ground pen from Kirk 😊
I know this is from 4 years ago but I really enjoyed this video. I like your energy. Happy Holidays.
The branding on the freebie notebooks is the english version of their logo "HOBO日". On their website the jp logo says ほぼ日 so they kept the -nichi (日="day") part on both versions <3
The kitties are cute! 😸💙☀️
Use a blow dryer to loosen the adhesive under the sticker, to save it! I watched the Netflix One Piece series and loved it, and I can’t wait for season 2! If it wasn’t the live action you tried watching, I would definitely try them with it, it was a lot of fun. I’m actually waiting for the One Piece Techo drop in October, so I’m stuck watching videos until then! Well, not entirely. I just ordered the Kanahei Piske and Usagi Weeks from Mercari…next time I’ll check collars early so I can get it cheaper. 😬
I thought the pages of my weeks seem darker cream too!
Seems that we have the same pick on stamps! I chose the pin note stamp and the ducks stamp too. I got the one piece stamp set the year it came out. Only use them here and there because I am not a huge silicone stamp person, but they’re fun to have
On the freebies, it says hobonichi, but stylized to say HOBO in English characters and nichi in the Japanese Kanji character (日)
@@linhnguyens1 Thank you! I thought it looked like HOBO but then that extra character threw me off.
Love your haul..can you show me how the dividers look ❤
Thank you. I’m happy with it!
Also I am bummed the pilot spare sign pens are no longer available. I saw another video recently that the Benu pens work but I am still saving for an Opus 88 demonstrator. I was able to screw it into my Fountain Pen Revolution Clear Darjeeling pen but the cap would not screw on as part of the threads for it are in the grip section. But at least I could use it with that body and see my ink in it and use with my con40 converter. Another gal said all pilot pens should work so might try a clear Kokuno
I think she used the Kiloro but she unscrewed the whole new unit
Oops I was wrong and it won’t let me delete it
Love the color combo 🤩
So two years later how many more pens did you buy?
Wow!! ❤ That’s Gorgeous! Do you still have the cognac weeks? I’d love to see how it’s parina’d!!
Nice haul, loved it
You have to remove the nib unit not unscrew the plastic. I have two opus 88s with Pilot parallel nibs. Just make sure the model is using a Jowo #6 nib
Yes she removed the nib and the o-ring from the opus and removed the nib and feed from the parallel pen and switched them
I love this pen! I have an earlier version of this ( a non 2.0 version) and I just LOVE THE COLORS! One of my faves for sure
Looks great
I love how these cracked ice designs on Italian pens have lovely little chatoyant gems that are in a gorgeous shade that complements the rest of the pen so well. The shimmering blue gems in this green and yellow pen are just soooo beautiful! Always my favorite part of these kinds of resins. Congrats on your very first Leonardo pen! I love them so much!! :) Enjoy it!!
Unboxing videos are so much fun! I've ordered the Leonardo Momento Zero in "black sands" which is a Goldspot promotion for fountain pen day and I'm really looking forward to it's arrival. 🙂 I don't know if you have any bottles of Private Reserve ink but they have a nice wide opening for easy filling. Thanks so much for sharing!
Loooove love love that pen. I have a MZG 2.0 in Primary Manipulation, and I've definitely eyeballed this colorway as well. I got my MZG in the stub nib, and while it's a great nib, it's not my fave for everyday writing. Some retailers carry replacement Leonardo nibs so I went ahead and bought a fine so I have two I can use! Voila! Private Reserve Avocado is one of my all-time favorite inks. It's such a lovely, well-lubricated ink. Enjoy!
Oh, and PS, Goulet did a video on the dip pen and inks. Sailor shies away from endorsing shimmer inks in their pens, so that's why it says for dip pens only. They did confirm that the ink is fine in fountain pens and won't damage them.
Love the haul!! I kinda wish I had gotten the metronome because I was looking at placing another order and I found that one was sold out and they are not planning on restocking. I think the sticker came with the orders that were made on release day because I just received mine and it didn't have one. *sadface* I can't wait to figure out my plan for 2024 for all my planning needs. LOL
I’ve been searching everywhere for the Ryoji Arai! They are so cute 🥰😍
Everyone does these wonderful Hauls, But no one talks about the postage price. Is it just not talked about? I'd love to order things but not knowing the price of postage is putting me off. I've heard anywhere from 50 to 200 dollars. The website isn't very clear about postage or tax.
I paid $45 dollars. I’m on their mailing list and I think they explained shipping in an email. You can see the shipping before confirming your order. Also, it’s fee shipping for any order over $250. That might help if you combine orders with a friend.
thank you, that's very helpful x @@lifeasme
I paid $35 for shipping and even with the shipping cost (which I avoid as much as I can) it was cheaper to order directly from Hobonichi than from US retailers that offered free shipping.
@@FranM6179 I'm in the UK so getting the Cousin wasn't that hard, but I want the A5 minä perhonen symphony for my birthday and the One Piece Weeks and maybe a few other small things like clear covers etc. The only place I could find the minä was a EU, Finish store which was charging an extra 40 pounds on top of the already scary price for the cover, as well as 35 shipping. It works out much cheaper to order from Japan. So that's what I'll do as soon as the One Piece Weeks comes out on the 1st.
Wow!! I love that plastic sleeve idea!!!
I *love* Hiroko Kubota's art! Her design last year "count the stars" had a fox sitting on top of a phone booth. I'm so glad I got that cover!
That design is on one of the pencil boards I purchased. I kind of wish I would have purchased the cover last year. You’re lucky to have it. 😊
Gorgeous covers!
That little hidden message behind the first back pocket says, "Happy nothing special day." :)
Thank you 😊
Beautiful haul!! I love the pen this year also!!
Lovely haul!!! 💕Can you tell me which phone you use to film?✨
I have an iPhone 11. It works for me. 😊
thank you so much !!! @@lifeasme
😍 Thank you for sharing! I also got the weeks in the Another night of falling star sparklers cover. I am absolutely in LOVE!
I loved it on the website and even more in person. 🥰
Metronome looks good. Thanks for these preview. I think I know what I’m going to get.
What did you decide on?
nice to meet you.Thank you for the wonderful video. About the "満年齢早見表" on the back page of the notebook.満年齢早見表="Quick reference chart of age" 「元号」とは。A Japanese era name is a title used for numbering years in the Japanese calendar system. For example, 2018 was Heisei 30. In Japan, era names are chosen to mark the passage of time in the same way that parents choose names for children as a way of expressing their hope for their healthy growth. From the Meiji(明治) period onwards, it became the rule to change era names only when a new emperor acceded to the throne. Until then, era names were often changed to drive away bad luck and to signal a fresh start after natural disasters. 干支According to a folk tale, the order of the twelve zodiac signs was decided by which animal gave its new year’s greetings to the God first. The twelve zodiac signs in Chinese astrology make a circuit by 12 years.
Cool!
Oh, thank you so much for taking the time to share that explanation with me. I love learning about other cultures. It’s fascinating to me. 😊
Fun haul! My order should here soon 💜💜
Wait, is TWSBI making an Iris Mini???
That’s my hope. It only exists I’m my dreams for now. 😂
@@lifeasme I would buy it immediately! My mini AL is such a great pen.
I have the Opus 88 Omar, I should try it in that!
You should! Let me know if it works. 😊
It fits! I haven't inked it up as I only have the 6.0 and can't think of a use for it right now.
@@cerealnana Oh good! Thanks for letting me know. I’ll have to keep my eye out for some used ones. I feel like I need four! 😂
I have one of those and a Pilot parallel but didn't know this was a thing! Can't wait for the next video!
LOL! Spoiler alert! The particular model I purchased didn't work. 🤦🏽♀️
@@lifeasme ha! Thank you for letting me know!
How exciting. I love ink swatching videos! Those Noodler's bottles are huge! I've never seen some of those Iroshizukus. You need Kon Peki and Murasaki Shikibu. AFAIK document ink mean waterproof... The Sailors are all too much of the same for me. hat a great collection!
Nice collection!! Enjoyed the video...🙏🙏👍👍👍
there are two similar Noodler's inks that are Black Swan: Black Swan in English Roses, and Black Swan in Austrailian Roses. The English Rose version is less well known.
Thank you. I just went to Goulet Pens to take a look at it and now I may be getting that one too. I'm not sure I have a red quite like that one.
wonderful colors! i hope your weekend is a blessed one.
Thank you. I hope yours is great too. 😊
The voice, the turning of the cap, the pen on paper, etc. This is ASMR approved!💜😍
😂 Thank you!
looks like fun, can't wait to watch
I’m a practical person I think, and I must applaud your use of the wrapping paper to protect your table top. Very wise imo. You only have to tip a new full bottle of ink (Oh Noodler’s… love the full bottles, but they have a narrow base which if you bump the bottle it’s going to be a HUGE mess!). I also think some ink bottles are really fancy, and I don’t blame you a bit for getting the Diamine Holly in the nice bottle… Very cool 👍😎. I like the colors you chose in full bottles too 👍. Thanks for the super smooth video. I will be a bore, and pass on what I do to hold eye dropper fountain pens (&) the small plastic bottles that Goulet & other places use for sampler inks. I found an ink bottle with a wide enough mouth so a small ink container will fit, but not so deep the mouth of the small container falls below the larger mouthed ink bottle. I fill the larger ink bottle about 1/3 - 1/2 full with #9 lead shot, but brass coated steel BBs works just as well. With the small amount of BBs, placing the small ink container in the bottle, and pushing down a tad, the BBs surround the small ink container and hold the container upright and securely. It also works great for holding upright the body of an eye dropper pen. Trying to hold one in one hand, and fill or dip a pen doing the same is just a recipe for spilling. BBs cost next to nothing, and it’s easy to find a 30mm bottle that has a wide mouth. Plus the weight of the BBs & glass bottle give it some weight so it is less likely to tip. {ah, Noodler’s glass bottles don’t work for this… 🤣😝🤮}Good luck.
Oh thank you! That’s a great tip! I’m off to find some BBs. I haven’t tipped a bottle yet but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time. 😬
Who knew the Romans bled highlighter?! 😂 Such a fun video. I loved discovering these new colors with you. :)
Thank you. It’s fun exploring new inks.
What fun goodies and beautiful blotter paper. Thanks for sharing!
What color is that?
I can’t believe I didn’t say in the video. It’s been so long since I ordered it now. I think it was the undyed but online they have a discount lining now. They all look really nice though.
Hi!so nice❤❤❤
So cute!!
I love that little donkey. 😀
Love the set up. Those colors are my fave 🤩
