Camping at Wyanga Park Winery @Lakes Entrance
มุมมอง 6022 ปีที่แล้ว
Wyanga Park Winery is located at north of Lakes Entrance, about 10 minutes drive from the town centre. It's secluded enough to be away from the hustle and bustle, but still close enough to town to enjoy the activities. Originally ouor booking was only for 2 nights, but we like it so much we asked if we can stay an extra night. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our group. More de...
Mallacoota & Camping @ Genoa Campground

Mallacoota a beautiful seaside town in Victoria, and during our stay we camped at Genoa Campground. Awesome camp sites, plenty of facilities (clean as well) and great spot to cool off and swim along the creek. List of Facilities credit to Wikicamps AU.

Merimbula Camp - Farm Stay
มุมมอง 4662 ปีที่แล้ว
A great alternative to caravan parks and free camping are farm stays. Plenty of room to stretch your arms and legs with family and friends. I found this farm stay at Wikicamps and booked via Hipcamp. Fantastic spot at Merimbula NSW, 20 acres of open space and camped along a creek, also comes with drop toilets.

Boat Recovery @Ngkala Rocks (Fraser Island - K'gari)

I don't know the full story behind this recovery, but they we're in full operation when we got there. Sharing our experience of a Boat Recovery at Ngkala Rocks (April 2022), and a traffic jam that can rival the M1 Freeway, plus a couple of 4WD's taking their chances against the high tides.

WHAT A TRAFFIC JAM , 1985, TOYOTA FJ 40 , TOWING A 18 FOOTER ,UP FOR THE FISHING TOUNAMENT AT ORCHID BEACH RESORT, NOT A PROBLEM , MAN I SAW THE BEST TIMES ON FRASER, BEEN THERE DONE THAT ! SANDY CAPE WAS A EASY DRIVE THEN
Great videos. Very informative. Could you make them a little bit longer. Like 10 to 20 minutes? Cheers from USA
Looking to do this myself with a very similar set up, did you get bogged anywhere or any places of concern? :)
Hey mate, didn't get bogged at all, we stayed at Cathedral caravan park, just a heads up the entrance is very soft is your staying there, also Yidney Rocks in land track gets tight and rutted out so just take it slow, other than that the rest is a breeze.. enjoy!
@@cruiznoffgrid2893 We're heading there next week!
We had a good look around too. Got there nice & early. We ended up with VIP parking at the entry gate (probably just to the right of you).. Awesome days out. 👍
Yeah good turn out, VIP parking was handy 😁
Ahhhhh K'Gari - land of so many idiot, dickhead drivers, doing the absolute opposite of what they have been told!!!!
Better trade them in next week after going for a swim
Yep.. "mainly highway km's and always looked after"...
Boat almost fell on top of bloke standing right next to the truck, totally oblivious to the possible danger. Must be another one of those FIFO robots - can't think for themselves. Obviously didn't do his boat rescue on beach induction
Haha 😄.. "watch out buddy"...
Camping traffic jams ,joy
How would that be fun. To many people on this planet now.
It wasn't fun at all, track was blocked for hours due to the recovery, generally the queue is short buy with the road block Ngkala was a bottle neck.. we ended turning back and enjoy more of the beach towards champagne pools area..
What pressures did you drop down to, did it easily and good to see dropping caravan tyres as well. It's all about tyre pressures and momentum, then I notice some dick stopped on the track, that's all you need is to lose your momentum.
Hey mate front tyres was 16, rear tyres was 14-15, and caravan was 16.. sailed straight through.. pumped up the pressures on fraser island to about 3-4 psi more and no issues..
@@cruiznoffgrid2893 did well at those pressures, the biggest problem I see is, if you have a bit of momentum, all good, but if you need to stop behind another vehicle, getting moving again could be difficult. Planning to do this crossing in the near future. Thanks for the response.
@@cruiznoffgrid2893 I've set my deflators to 17psi - we're towing a 700kg soft floor camper (same psi) so should be all good :) Do you think I can get away with sticking with that air pressure for the drive to Cathedrals? Also, where did you stop to pump up the tyres? Eurong?
@@hambo76 yes mate you'll be fine at those pressures, Eurong is OK to pump up pressures, I did it before then, basically when the sand was starting get firmer I pumped them up, just depends on the conditions.. but you will notice it when you're driving on Fraser..
How much does the van weight and how did the prado go?
Hey mate, van weighed about 2.7T.. it's a 16.6 foot van.. and the Prado didn't skip a beat.
Hey mate, awesome video! Quick q - do you need to pay for vehicle access permit for the caravan as well or is the VAP for the car enough? Cheers!
From memory it was only for the vehicle, the caravan was not part of it, but then again my Mrs organised that part of the tri...give them a call they're generally very friendly and plus gave great tips on where to camp..
@@cruiznoffgrid2893❤❤
Place looks like a real shit show...
Mate.. absolutely crazy that day.. glad we gave ngakala a miss and best to return back on quiter day.
Where abouts did you guys stay on fraser?
We stayed at Cathedrals campground, great spot, the sand gets soft at the entrance especially with the van on tow, and sites are tight but manageable
@@cruiznoffgrid2893 thanks. We are booked into central station and also one of the beach zones. Very hard to decide tbh. Not a lot of info. Thanks for your help.
this was such a great experience this year great 2 wins for waters and another great one for gissy
100% bud!
@@cruiznoffgrid2893 where you there?
@@dylxn22 yes bud... I was lucky enough to know someone who got me to do the grid walk with them, that's how I got the footage.. once in a lifetime experience...
