It is not cooperative. I believe I showed an example where the yellow player attacked the blue player. I also mentioned that the first player to recover all their treasures wins the game. Thanks' for watching though. Do you own this game?

I haven't played this game in about a year and certainly don't consider myself a strategic expert on this game. But I'll just say as the Vikings, you want to be sure not to spread yourself too thin as you expand across the map. The English player will mostly be defensive, but if you see that the Vikings player has indeed spread himself thin, they'll you want to take advantage and try to take some of your cities back. The most important thing is to have fun!

Hi Chris. As I mentioned in the video, I enjoyed my recent play as well. I have an expansion for it that I've never tried. The next time I play this game I'll add that in and see how it is. Have you played it with an expansion?

@ I have not played with either expansion, but many reviews say that they improve the game so much that players wouldn’t play without them. Have fun!

I don't mind a long game if it's a good one. And this one is good in my opinion. I need to play it again sometime soon.

When forming a fire group, you choose one unit to be the base unit, and it gets its full firepower. In this case I chose the Medium MG, so it got its firepower, plus the command bonus of 2 for a total of 8. Then each other unit in the fire group that has range and line of sight adds 1 firepower.

@@lancesboardgamestuff Ah OK! So since it is only supporting it gives only 1 firepower then and doesn't get the bonus from the leader in the same hex?

@@jancolpaert8163 Correct. In a fire group, only one unit gets to use its base fire power, plus any command bonus if available. The other units in the fire group then just add 1 each.

Well, they are both Lovecraftian themed anyway. I don't think the gameplay is the same. But I can see the comparison.

The rules state the players can bet as many times as they like, as long as they have sufficient gold to do so.

I thought I remembered you mentioning it. Let me know if I got anything wrong. I think I’ll need to play it with other people to appreciate it.

@@lancesboardgamestuff I think you got it right! As you mentioned, the rulebook isn’t the best so I watched how to play videos and learned from those. I liked that it’s a comedy/sci-fi game with silly gear and weapons. Plus, I’m a fan if the Tremors franchise😄!

Yes, I think the main reason the price of the game is as high as it is, is because of the miniatures.

Absolute Gold, Food, Wood and Favor. Thanks for making this video. I just acquired this game a few weeks ago. I’ve played the video game since it came out. My son, who is now 25, also really enjoys that and when ‘Retold’ came out, it was an insta-buy for us. It has been great, bringing back lots of nostalgia. When I told him there was a board game for this, he was surprised. When I looked up what copies were selling for-I was surprised. I found a copy for $30 plus shipping that was basically in like new condition (only minimally punched). I was surprised since it is OOP, and the Age of Empires II CCG is extremely hard to find and megabucks. So I was very happy to find this one for relative cheap. I think people are ridding the game as its mechanics feel a bit dated. But a few plays in, we’ve had fun with it (also roped my 12 year old son in). We’ve also conceptualized some variant house rules (in addition to some we’ve found on BGG--like hits on 6s and 5s). We’ve added Titans (NPC combat that provides VP) and unique faction buildings--HIll Forts, Greek Fortress, and Migdol Stronghold. The minis--despite being in a relatively older game--are still pretty nice, as are the cards. I put my cards in Ryker Standard size sleeves. The Cardboard building tokens are really my only aesthetic gripe--They would look so much better in today’s board game manufacturing. This video did a nice job explaining the game, so we could jump right in.

Hi Chris. The rules actually suggested substituting some hunter orc miniatures from Games Workshop for the orc tokens. But Games Workshop miniatures are expensive. I'm sure that's why this game carries a somewhat high price tag. I may eventually paint the miniatures.

Hi, If I remember correctly, you can play any number of command cards on your turn. But you can only play one command card when take a system test to modify the result. This includes combat. Ops cards can't be played in combat and usually have a requirement that needs to be met. You can play crew cards to your ship for their ability, and they usually have an ops or combat ability that you can use if you discard them. I think most of this is explained in the video if you watch the rules explanation.

Yes, I'm a sucker for Tolkein stuff as well. Except Amazon's Rings of Power, which I quit watching after the 4th episode of the first season because it was not Tolkein in my opinion. Hopefully I have time to get a how to play video done by the end of this coming weekend.

I do have an expansion for this called Halls of Terra, but I've not tried it yet. I guess I need to.

@@lancesboardgamestuff yes you should it's add a new section on the map and new mechanic, I always play with the expansion with the luck of the dice you can get a relic pretty early in the game.

I still haven't been able to get my friends to play it. I think it would be fun, but I guess because it is old they don't want to play.

Hi Chris. I did lose a few games in that tornado, but surprisingly most survived, even if they had a bit of box damage like this card game. I guess the Force was strong with most of my games...haha. That was 10 long years ago though.

If you think that would make the game more enjoyable for everyone, then I'd say you should do it.

Yes, maybe you are right. Still, they did fight the Orphans and did not ever fight the Hi Hats. Do you have this game? If so, do you like it?

haha...that's a tough one. It does say the last person to have one or more beans alive is the winner. So, I'd go with your first option, the last player to roll the dice would win instantly because they would have the last bean alive before they rolled.

Yes, I guess it might have a bit of all those games. Not as complex or long as Mage Knight. I've only played the first two missions so far, but I've enjoyed it.
