FYI I'm pretty sure the issue of not having faders (at 29 min) can be solved by pairing a midi controller with the MK2
Can I make multiple groups of the same type of fixture? I have 6 wash light bars that I would like to set on 3 different “scenes”
Yes, in the patch menu you can move fixtures to different groups. Sounds like you would just identify which fixtures you want to move go to the patch and move them individually until you have them in the group you want.
Rotozip with a circle cutting attachment is the way to go if you are doing this work in volume. Use an inward cutting spiral bit and place ceiling tile over a box and dust and debris is limited to the box.
Rotozip is another great option. Good also for cutting in LV plates into drywall.
Thank you
HDMI out on the camera is 1080p only, not really meant to be a source, but of course with clean it can be. Just a point that to get the real performance out of this you need to use the SDI or capture it to an SSD via USBc
HELP! I bought the Shure movemic 2 to live stream through my iphone. However, I have been unsuccessful livestreaming with this microphone for my TikTok Lives. Do you have any suggestions
There is an app that you need on your phone. The MOTIV app. Then you connect it through the app via Blue Tooth. Here is a video from Shure about it: th-cam.com/video/Jci1aAalgxk/w-d-xo.html
Thank you!
Hello! I’m not really knowledgable to studio cameras but I think this sounds perfect for what I wanna use it for. I was wanting to use it as a top down camera for card games. Would I be able to record 4k and monitor this on a macbook?
Yes, the camera can record in 4k. As for monitoring on your laptop you would need a capture card. You can set the HDMI output to 1080p to monitor. A 1080 capture device isn't too expensive.
@@eventtechav Thank you so much!
Is that Cat5/6 that you keep calling "wire"? If so...not sure I'll take to much of this seriously. Wire, like THHN is very easy to pull through conduit....cable...like Cat5/6 is much trickier.
We do professional commercial Audio Video. Typically the type of wire we pull is 10/2, 12/2, 14/2, Category Cables, Fiber, 24/2 etc... THHN is uncommon in AV systems because of the lack of shielding. Yes, the wire that Bruce has in his hand is Cat 6 that he is using as an example.
So you're telling me that cables are not composed of wires?
Go pull 600 feet of 1/0 through some four point saddles and let us know how easy it was.
Awesome video! Easy to follow.
Thanks!
Good vid! A another tip is when using PVC pipe and sweeps with bell ends, try to install it so that you are pulling into the bell ends. And have them al point the same way. That way, the wires will not snag on the cut ends of the pipe.
Great tip!
What you said is totally useless
I'm glad you already know what coax is! ⭐
Unless you have black cable, a Sharpie can write directly on the cable. It's the method every other data and AV tech I've worked with for the last 40 years have used for temp cable ID. Those Milwaukee markers are ok, but I've switched to Sharpie Pro which is made to write on oily and wet surfaces. These will also write on white 3M electrical tape and even sheet labels meant for laser printers. This is what we use for temp labels when needed. The ink is very aggressive and can penetrate when others don't. Another tip is Knipex electrician's shears. Huge upgrade from Klein telco shears. With Cat 6a so prevalent in AV these days, these are excellent during termination and wire pull. They are however so sharp, they take a bit of adjustment in using them for termination.
I have this tool. It states it cuts RG59 cable. When I try it though it always cuts through the braided and sometimes the middle section too just leaving the copper core. Did I get cheap cable?
Unfortunately, without physically being there to check out your tool and cable, we can only guess, but it sounds like your stripper blade depth might be off. Check out our full Coax Termination video th-cam.com/video/5OwPomZ9A3Q/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared and start around the 12:35 mark where we go in depth on this wire stripper and how to use it. It might help you figure out what's going on.
@@eventtechavjust watched the video, thanks. I took a section of R6 cable wire that I had at home and tried it. Worked just the way it was supposed to. Tried many times with the RG59 cable I got off Amazon and still only leaves me the copper core. I’m doing it the same way that I did the R6. I couldn’t find the rg59 cable locally to put hands on to compare.
We just set up our new SLX-D system. We're not sure if we should run all the gain from our Qu-16 mixer or use the "Optimal" level on the Shure SLX-D receiver. We are in a small church setting.
The general rule of thumb is to add gain earlier rather than later. So how does that apply in your situation? Let's start with sensitivity settings dependent on the primary use of the mic we have found that sensitivity between -8 and -14 is a good place to start. Then gain output of the unit should typically be around 0. Most of the time there is no benefit to adding lots of gain at the unit. Then add gain at the console to bring your levels up to that near Unity that we discussed.
nice video of a great product. :) one thing that stings a little ist the fact, that you can link only 2 units together and not "multiple" units and it does not give you more universes, just two menus at once. You can also link a faderbox to the unit and use it for Stage Scenarios examples on my channel. Cheers!
THANK YOU! This was the most detailed video on this controller I have watched. Appreciate you for this. I’m still learning the Live Edit and Presets, but this video has helped me.
That's awesome! Keep it up!
Just got one!

How do you delete a preset?
To Delete a Preset (or Live Edit) hit "Shift" and then press the preset button you wish to delete. Go to the name of the preset and delete all characters in the name box. Then confirm by pressing the flashing preset button again. NOTE: You cannot delete preset 1.
Shift and the presets you want to delete , then press the garbage can icon in the top right
I’d love to see a deep dive video on how you make LUT files for your cameras
Ooh I might have to do that!
JW was amazing! I don't want to see JW again though!

I don't want to see JW again! 🤩
Noted!
you said that the atem wasn't necessary o control the setting , how then do you doit since the camera doesn't have a monitor?
In a different part of the video I talk about connecting to an HDMI monitor and using the On Screen Display. Also you can use a dongle to connect an Ethernet device and control it with software on your computer.
I know it’s on the entry side but the BLX system has served me well. I have several of them.
Glad you like your BLX. We have helped lots of churches with those systems.
I've looked for this video for years. Thank you for finally making it!
I'm glad it's the right video for you! Be safe out there and watch the whole series.
@@eventtechav I did... Now I'm going through other videos on your channel as well! Any tips for rigging on a slanted ceiling? (Obviously an integrator is always the way to go, but I'm more asking because I want to learn)
The material construction of the ceiling plays a big role. But, Unistrut parallel to the ceiling with eye bolts and aircraft cable is our normal go to, because the aircraft cable will fall straight down to the ground.
I think this product is best and will be the first person to use this in my country called Ghana. Will contact you later for more details. Good work, carry on.
Shout out from Ghana!!! Thanks. Congrats on your new console.
I have this in my rig. Probably a dumb question but if I sent you my device and fixture list would you program it for said fixtures for a fee? I just had to ask…Thanks for video

Nice!
you are the only person to really show how to use the wmx1 thank you so very much .....info is to clear
Thanks So Much! Do you own one? If not let's get you one. If you do what kind of projects are you working on?
So I bought a new TV that has EArc. And I bought a different brand sound bar for it Samsung. I had trouble with this set up from day one most of the time it wouldn’t turn on the sound bar. I got a hold of customer service several times asking me to reset power cycle, etc. etc. finally one of the customer service technicians suggested that I reverse the 3 foot HDMI cable that I had. It seems like all my problems went away. Now I’m going to have to continually use the TV to feel confident that the problem is gone, but it’s been extremely stable after that. I wonder how many people are in the same boat.
Much less common on short cables but it's a real thing and most people are unaware. Glad it's working!
@@eventtechav Problems came back. I had a few good days. I'm thinking that Samsung and TCL don't play well together.
We work exclusively in Commercial Audio Visual and not residential, so this is a little outside our normal scope, but have you tried upgrading your HDMI cable? Not all cables are created equal and cheap cables cannot only have poor internal solder connections some of the pins in the cable may not even be bonded through the entire cable. That's why some cables are $10 and others are $25. For commercial purposes we use comprehensive cables. But Roland makes quality cables available on Amazon for about $20.
@@eventtechav Thank you for taking the time to reply. I'll try that.
