Finnic Influences in Latvian and Latgalian

This video does not take a stand on Latgalian being a dialect or a language, but I still decided to mention it distinctly as the influences are slightly different. "mainly descendants of Ingrian Finns" Basically ingrians thats why, why are they even called siberian finns if theyre ingrians
As a young Finnish person, I feel that meeting old finnish people is so special because I get to hear the real dialects, untainted by other dialects. I am from Kainuu, but I don't speak the pure Kainuu dialect
This does sound a lot like the eastern dialects of Finnish, which would be Kainuu region
rightful uralic federation land.
As for cloudberries - According to one version, the name comes from the word "morozka", emphasizing that the plant blooms in spring frosts. According to another version, the word "moroshka" is related to the word "mura". This is what the Karelians called the amber-orange berry.
There are many versions of the origin of the city's name. At the end of the 18th century, academician V. F. Zuev, who determined the location of ancient Kaluga, suggested that its name comes from the name of the nearby Kaluzhka River is, at its mouth, where the now revealed image is located" The same opinion was held by Kaluga archaeologist Ivan Chetyrkin, chairman of the Kaluga Scientific Archival Commission, who believed that the name of the river comes from the Russian words kalyuzhа, kalyuzhina, which means "swamp" The name comes from the Russian dialectal word "kaluzhina", i.e. the Russian dialectal word "kaluzhina", i.e. the Kaluga region. swamp (read above) The etymological dictionary of M. Vasmer also interprets the word kaluga as “swamp, bog” and finds parallels for it in other Slavic languages: Ukrainian kalyuzha, kalyuga “puddle, mud”, Serbo-Croatian kaљuga, kaљuzha “puddle”, Slovenian kaluza, Czech kaluze “puddle”, Slovak kaluza.
ok i mean this is just almost the exact same as finnish.

Great content on this channel. What languages do you speak yourself? Is your mother tongue a Uralic language or where did you get the idea for a channel about Uralic languages?

nice song
Maybe there might be far similiarities lexically, but the structure and logic is the same w uralic and altaic families…turkic and hungarian languages stem from the same area, southern urals… the belief systems, structure was the same, before religions were adapted and german and semitic effects were adopted in the language and culture of each… while indo europeanists more come and glue together, ural altayists drift more apart! I personally think, indo european has its roots in ural altaic together with the ancient yenisein languages before they seperated and formed indo european
