Recently discovered (Thanks to my brother!) a neat AI music generator called Udio. I did a little experiment - OK, a bloody big experiment - to see if I could use it to create a progressive rock epic. Prog songs are often, although not exclusively, about something obscure (Giant hogweed, Henry VIII's wives, roundabouts...) and I chose the Battle of Edington as my theme.
The song runs to a length of approximately 13 minutes, and the results are pretty impressive. Some of the lyrics are auto-generated, others I wrote myself, but unfortunately about eight minutes in the lyrics corrupt to gibberish for about 45 seconds and I couldn't work out a way to correct them without starting again from scratch. No matter, let's just pretend that's Guthrum's army talking amongst themselves!
This took me several days so I wasn't keen to go back to the drawing board. Have a listen and see what you think! I intend to create more of these as time allows (So don't hold your breath...)
