I tried the following and now using. I have a 12v deep cycle lead acid battery (located inside the heated area) that's hook to a "load controlling" solar panel charge controller (i used a Xantrex C35 set jumper on load management with digital battery monitoring cover). I have a adjustable 12v power supply ( I used A DROK 24V Power Supply, AC 110V/220V to DC 0-24V 20A 480W Buck Converter, Variable Adjustable Adapter Regulated 5V 12V 24V Volt Switching Voltage LED Transformer 20A Amp Charger) hooked to the solar controller in place of solar panels (faking out controller). I have the heater hooked direct to the battery. The battery i fully charged then removed charger and let is settle to its static state and set my power supply to match that voltage, in my case 12.9v (hence the need for an adjustable 12v power supply). Side note, i then powered my (non battery version $50 Worth it!!!) Bureck CD Thermostat to the battery direct, with a DIY 3.7v step down at stat. I use this system in my chicken coop here in Montana to protect against the artic blasts -20 and lower, my chickens have large combs and get frost bite if i don't supplement the heat. I get a lot of power outages in rural Montana and don't want heater to be on and power go out, this can be very bad!!!. This system works perfect, with perfect battery management and perfect power supply for CDH. Battery has never been over charged once its very happy. I am now at a total set it and forget it status and it feels good as i have been through hell with this issue. Other considerations would be to add a solar panel redundancy as well, Moisture protection, over current protection of course i.e. fuses in load circuits.

What size wire did you use to replace that thin stuff from the battery?

I think there is a component under that melted spot. Most boards I have see have a speed regulating transistor with heat sink on them that you can see from open side of board. I also have come across some that the main plug to the board has started to melt from corroded connections causing random fault codes.

Can the trickle charger be used while the battery is connected to the heater?

After one week radiator will be blocked by ash and smoke.

So is this the same kinda Chinese diesel heaters you can use in a camper 🚐 ( the red unit looks bigger than I ve seen used in a van!) 🤔🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

To me, the flame you're using, is what we were taught (in 1967!) was more for brazing, than for welding mild steel. We were taught to increase the oxygen until there was no fluffiness around the core flame, but it mustn't be too sharp either, as that was an oxidising flame and would produce a more brittle weld.

Good video, but the way labour are at moment only natter if time before they ban them, because it doesn't meet their green agenda, and would prefer us poorer sending money to big energy companies. I will be moving into a stone terrace house soon so creating a exhaust hole will be a pain but im determined to, its a 3 story house with a basement room. And this would be ideal to geat that room. And even bet that heat will eventually rise through the house keeping it generally warmer dry and prevent mould in cold spots because your home is literally a packet and any heat will without doubt distribute not evenly but definitely distribute to colder areas

Is it safe to use LPG gas with an acytlene regular?

THOSE SMALL OXY BOTTLES ?, are bloody expensive ? Rothenburg ones were £50 years ago . Where did you get the medical oxy machine from and price ? are they any good for small model makers ? Thanks for your video .👍

So it ran for an hour and used 100ml of oil, But what temperature increase in that room did that achieve?

Andy i live off grid and i use my diesel heater every day. Today for example i had my petrol generator running and a 10amp car battery charger conected to my heater while the heater was running. Tbh i do this at least once a week. Been doing it for a year now. My heater never has a issue with the battery being charged while the heater is running.

Hi i have had many problems with these motherboards and controllers so I always buy a controller and motherboard as a pair, never separately, it saves a world of pain good luck with it..

I run mine on red farm diesel. about 2 gal/24 hrs wide open.

i would flex it open, lay a copper spiral inside were the gases goes in and out and fill the rest with fine quartz sand so u really have a heat battery

K-1 (clear) kerosene is nearly double the price of diesel here in US. How long can you run on a full tank?

Can i put a garret turbo on it for extra heat? Asking forra friend Is pretty neat though, would be perfect for living off grid in england seeing as your never really too far from people

I have an oxygen concentrator and I use it with a small propane tank. My torch keeps going out and the alarm on the concentrator keeps going off. Could you go over how you have yours setup? Thanks

can the drivers gate be removed fully as this in 2018 model

killed mine running 70/30 diesel and old motor oil mixture after a few months, vevor ended up sending me a new one under warranty lesson learned lol

Nice Video again. One point to note Kero has no lubricity . This will lead to early fuel pump failure I run mine on 50% kero and 50% diesel and have not had a pump fail since.

Just plumb it direct into the inlet and outlet of the rad. Direct heat from combustion. No messing about.

This light comes on after driving 2-3 miles and goes off again after about 30 seconds, any idea what it could be?

Your also causing a negative pressure inside the room your heating by having the burner air intake inside the room and the exhaust on the outside. The result is it will pull cold air in from the outside like from around the door etc

You should definitely not install the silencer indoors. It usually has a small hole on one side to allow condensation to drain off. In addition, it is generally not completely sealed as it is only spot-welded. As a result, exhaust gases escape, which can quickly become dangerous in enclosed spaces.

Congratulations, you have built a condensing diesel heater. The steam is proof you are extracting energy from the exhaust. Mount the heat ex closer to the output of the machine and reverse the direction of water flow for greater efficiency. All the best to you.

saw a video saying that if you port the exhaust in to a greenhouse or mini greenhouse you can get some fantastic results, they give out co2 and its great for plants

How do you keep the battery charged up?

If your claiming to run this on waste oil you are chatting waffle pal. Tried multiple times with veg oil and it fails with jsit a few ml of veggie oil in 10l diesel.

I have one exactly the same , but lately I’ve turn it on , 3 min later shuts down and smoke comes out of the in air take, bit worried, any one here knows what it could be thanks

I have a couple of these, one heating our motor home in our Alaska winter. Very reliable, sips fuel and all around great purchase.

You should try putting the exhaust in a coil configuration to get more surface area within the water tank - perhaps better in a cylinder or barrel to accommodate a coil and aid better heat transfer to the water. At present your system only has a foot of exhaust submerged in water. Better still what about an air to water heat exchanger. Cool project though 👍

You really pushing this diesel heater efficiency thing to another level. :D Of all solutions i have seen, this is the best yet, imagine the exchanger would be longer or twice in a row. Well done mate.
