Story of the year in the shadows live cubby bear
Even at their craziest and most energetic, Andy has always slayed live. Shows like this only work with a strong and reliable backbone, and to date he's never put on a bad show.
it's almost comforting to kno that pete has never once played the bridge of grand theft autumn correctly
Thank you for this, I remember this show vivadly, as a 40 year old, early 2000s were huge for suburban shows at knights of Columbus
Was this the Knights of Columbus in Arlington Heights?
i should have been there
The music and DVD section damn I’m old son
This is badass. Period.
I needed this! Thank you 🙏🏼 I am currently obsessed with this band. Man I wish I would have known about them sooner!!!
Watching this again after seeing them in Birmingham last week and tearing up a little because Patrick made a little speech after "Chicago is So 2 Years Ago" about how it made him so excited hearing an arena of people sing all the words to a 20 year old song "because not too many people were singing it back when we put it out" 🥲 i love this band so much
This is the fall out boy I know
Saw an interview not too long ago of Patrick talking about how he misses these kind of shows, because he was so connected with his audience and honestly the band’s energy here really shows how close they were with their audience/fans
Hard to believe they would have as much fun playing live as they did back then.
Is Patrick playing the leads in this show??
lead and rhythm guitars dont actually exist anymore tbh. its an old band concept.
It very much so still exist lol. Most pop punk bands still to this day have lead and rhythm guitarist. More often than not, if the singer also plays guitar, he's 90% of the time playing rhythm. It's clear that at times Patrick is playing the leads in this video, hence my question. @@kalemvir
Funny how 4 years ago I was obsessing over this show and would dream to see fall out boy on Halloween and this year I got to see them on Halloween. That means that show was exactly 20 years after this one 🥲
I live in a town called Columbus so I'm only coming up with local stuff and I know that's wrong. Someone help me out....where's this located?
Arlington Heights, Illinois
@@themorningofrock thanks!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN MOTHER FUCKERS 20 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

LMAO NOT THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
joe is off a bean in this for sure
Thats a fucking gem i just got back 20 fucking year. Hell men thank you i needed that
I wonder if the people here knew they were at the very beginning of a godly creation
this was their last good album
@@alexfinnegan9478 Isn’t this their first???
Me giving my own commentary at the kitchen table as my dad stares at me.....yea get used to it dad
I just saw them and they're very much a pop band now.
this and evening out with your gf were their only good CDs

Every now and then I’m reminded that The Morning Of is no more and a wave of sadness comes over me. But these videos and streaming their music helps a little. One of the greatest bands of all time
I can relate to your comment so hard. Thanks for sharing!
I dreamt of this band every week for 13 years. I am so sad I need more of Jessica leplon and the morning of. Life was so much better when we had her voice. I hope shes doing well.
When they were at their best!
love this era when pat isnt conscious of his bald spot
Theyre so old and boring now
this was thier last good CD
Ugh I’d give anything to go back to this.
Oh my god this is the infamous stage collapse show
0:08 - Pete briefly playing the bridge to "Okay I Believe You, but My Tommy Gun Don’t," by Brand New.
Watching this ins 2023 and crying. I'm not young anymore and I would give anything to be there and experience this at a young age
I was almost 10 when this video was recorded... I had JUST gotten into them, and I wish I could've been there. These were good times.
👏 def worth the watch
2022 still listening
I used to frequent KOC every weekend including this show 🥲 the nostalgia from this video THANK YOU
My favorite holiday is Halloween but I would skip all the parties and ditch all the candy in the world to see them live again 😭
Bro I was born in 2003 and for some reason I feel old?? Like just seeing how young they were here makes me realize how old I really am 😅
Bro me too, like ew I’m turning 20 this year
Reading Joe’s book & then watching this vid was amazing, and to watch what he was describing playing shows in the early years!
Aw amazing comment! I'm in the process of reading it as well! I'd say this is a little less hardcore than what he referred to in his book, but this was probably the closest it got in the Fall Out Boy era. Cheers!
nobody talkin about the godly bridge on chicago is so two years ago?? THE CROWD IS AMAZING
Pure gold. What a time to be alive.
Lol your comment means more now with the actually pretty good new album out.
Seeing Joe wearing eyeliner is giving me oxygen. Like the oxygen I need to breathe.
It's wild to remember Fall Out Boy used to essentially play hardcore shows lol
nice username also apparently patrick played drums for a grind band prior to fob? wild to think ab.
@magpie-yf8gf RACETRAITOR MENTIONED !!!!!! hes played some sets with the band in relatively recent history. fob is totally ingrained within chicago hardcore. pete wentz and tim mcilrath (rise against) were in a metallic hardcore band called arma angelus
4:21 Andy was such a badass.
God this is so fucking awesome. From the first note, the energy is off the charts. They used to throw every bit of themselves into their shows and they were magnetic as fuck to watch.
i love them all more then i love myself
Is this where they filmed dead on arrival?
Sure is! Great eye!
Good reminder that Fallout Boy was once good
They’ve still got it man. Been to a show recently? Things change, but these guys still rock.
I could only dream of having enough memory to record a 30min set
"Stop, The Stage Collapsed." XD
The Best Album i've ever heard of FOB. Take This To Your Grave
Shortest (height) band of all time lmaooo
