Using the Biblical story about how Mary returned to the tomb of Jesus, only to find that he had already resurrected and moved on; Win Butler goes on a path wondering whether there could be a God that can still love us all despite all our sins. However, that is not the central question he ends with in the end. More importantly, he wants to know Why we don’t deserve love. If there is a God, he wants him to come off his cross and answer him.
