Hi Boris, just a quick question, in lesson 21, you recommended using camel case for function names. But in these examples, you've used snake case, like 'generateUrl' or 'generateText'. I'm wondering if both styles are acceptable or if there's any particular reason for choosing snake cases here.
which means that, which means that, which means that, I lost you already..
excellent tutorial! that explained well. Hope to follow Django Course with you.
thanks. clear and concise explanation.
You never send coupons for your courses
We need a Ruby on Rails course !!!!
If you like this course, Boris has an equally excellent Udemy course on Vue. I highly recommend this too: Vue Masterclass (Covers Vue 2 and 3) Learn VueJS and build a complete real-world project using Vue, Pinia, TypeScript, TailwindCSS, Vitest, and more.
Hi Boris, are you going to make Ruby on Rails course on Udemy? Your students want one really.
What happens if you run debug, and see that the value has not been updated? Going through that right now at work.
Very, very useful. Great tutorial. I showed this video to my co-worker and he replied with "But we have AI now!". We still need to know these skills buddy.
Thank you once again. Beautiful walktrough
great series, thanks Boris!
Perfect! Just the right explanation, not too less, not too much, just about right.
good content , we can improve the visuals the font is very small
😘😘😘
Hey Boris, thank you for this. I was expecting a course on Udemy and forgot to look here. I like your teaching so much that I keep dipping back into your Ruby course. I have no idea what I am going to do with it, but it's enjoyable. 🙂
Thank you Boris!
Thx, you give me a fantastic tool for my studies at university. Thx
...?
ty
informative video. thanks a lot. found it to be very helpful.
Good video. For clarity, 'step out' takes you to the end of the function to the point before the return statement is executed, only when you press 'continue' in the original scope is the function variable 'final_value' attributed the value 25.
Good video. Although putting a BP on line 10 would have been useful for rookies, it would have shown them that the debugger skips the function definition straight to the function call. Your set up shows the debugger moving through the BPs in the order they appear in the program, which is misleading.
You're an amazing coder Boris, thank you so much for all your lessons on programming. #learntalot
Wow! That's the most clear and understandable explanation I have ever seen! And I have watched a lot of those. Thank you!
I wonder why, in my case, the screen.debug updating the value attribute in virtual Dom only when I use async function with 'await' keyword. Though in your case, email and password are updating without async func? Can you please explain?
Hey! Your course worth all the money, and it's so generous of you to give it away for free! Thank you so, so much! I have one stupid question. Could we rename this.state loginMode property to loginMode1, and this.setState loginMode property to loginMode2? Would it be a valid syntax in that case? Just to differ two of these properties one from another by name. Sorry if my question is dumb, I'm in a start on my IT journey) THANKS once again! You are my favorite teacher! =)
Thanks! The syntax you described is technically valid but I'm not sure if it would add more confusion. Keep in mind that the function that you give to setState will receive the complete component state (this.state). this.state is the complete object, not just the single loginMode property. So naming the parameter loginMode or loginMode would be confusing. You COULD destructure the loginMode object property in the function definition but then you'd have to use the original property name (unless you assign an alias). For the function parameter, prevState ("previous state") is a common convention but you're welcome to use any term that communicates "this is the current state and it's about to change".
Nice exercise :-)
seriously looking for more now !!! ! 😦😧😨
Nice!
i think keeping both files as a reference would be pretty good
think I'm gonna skip testing section, I find it very useless for my level of React knowledge(the things we did till now)
i think this section of lessons was VERY important in core understanding of React.js
Guess we can also bind this inside a render functions like this onClick={this.handleClick.bind(this)}
it is confusing non the less, but you did good explaining and now I understand this :)
You just earned yourself a subscriber 👏
Very useful , now we can actually see the junk under the React.js carpet! :)
lol i intuitively set children value to array of few list elements, and it turned out correct :D
it's faster in terms of processing power, but it's slower in terms of internet bandwidth because of all the junk it carry.
a Tree of Elephants sounds much better to me :)
thats my point, since we already have control over everything via JS, why the f do we need some stupid library that does all that we can simply do in JS with it's own prolonged syntax!
intuitively it would be fine to pass "TacoCard" and "BurritoCard" as a string, and then import the TacoCard and BurritoCard component inside FoodItems.jsx file. but that doesnt work.
thats the exact reason i don't like react, instead of making less code and less components, you are actually making third component and more code, just so you can have controll over two other components at one place, i hope you see the problem there.
can't we just use prettier extension?
after few years of mastering CSS, i really despite all CSS library's and frameworks.
i feel like tailwind is just an overkill, and CSS is actually simpler.
Market has a high demand for Tailwind, but in my personal opinion at the end you end up with more classes and ugly looking html. Using CSS and making what you need is much more clean and tbh easier then learning someone else's CSS and his custom classes(Tailwinds)
i like module.css much better :)
i always see that by default react root is created on a new <div id=root> element, which is just another element nested inside a body. My question is why don't we just use <body> as root element?
How to add root id to html document via JS??
document.querySelector('div').id = 'idYouWantToSet'
