Some states base their property tax on purchase price but New Mexico taxes what they want. I bought a house for 110k and was assessed over double that amount. Scam. I tried to appeal but no adjustment and said it should be higher. 😜

Thanks for the info. How are the supplies in Angel Fire (groceries, restaurants, gas, etc.)? We’ve been planning to spend a couple of weeks there at our family vacation home (we live in Texas), but we’ve hesitated out of worry about fire conditions, road access, and potential evacuation orders. Your last couple of updates (along with official reports) have been encouraging, so we’re coming on up to see how things are. Just want to be sure we wouldn’t be “in the way” of fire crews or find it hard to get the supplies we need to have a good time there. Thanks.
